25mm Armour Piercing Fin Stabilized Discarding Sabot Tracer missing the plastic ballistic cap. The ballistic caps fall off all the time but it doesn't affect the performance. As I recall the cartridge case is incorrect for the projectile. APFSDS-T and FAPDS-T normally have black cartridge cases and TP, TPDS-T and HEI-T have green cartridge cases, at least for ammo used by the Canadian Forces.
This 25mm ammo is used in the M242 chain gun on the LAV III and Coyotes.

The M829 is an American Armor-Piercing, Fin-Stabilized, Discarding Sabot (APFSDS) tank round designed specifically for the 120-mm M256 main gun on the Abrams M1A1, M1A2 and M1A3 main battle tanks.
I'm guessing it's this:
The M829 is an American Armor-Piercing, Fin-Stabilized, Discarding Sabot (APFSDS) tank round designed specifically for the 120-mm M256 main gun on the Abrams M1A1, M1A2 and M1A3 main battle tanks. This sub-caliber anti-tank round is essentially a dart made of a depleted uranium (DU) alloy which gives it good penetration against nearly all known types of tank armor. The penetrator is carried by a sabot during its acceleration in the gun barrel.
Or something close.
Great round. 25mm APFSDS. we had great effects on target with them in Afghanistan.
