look what they are selling at Canadian Tire!

Leduc.

FTW, they got in 4 Mosin Nagant "Sniper" editions last night, complete with original scope and old-timey leather scope bra. On sale this weekend for 550 I think, regular 689.00 or so. I wasn't listening as I looked through the scope at a ceiling light 75 yards away. She (a 20 year old) knew TONS and said they'll go very fast. 7.62 x 54, and they had crates of ammo for it. Cheap.
The SVT40's are dripping in cosmo. But the Nagants are nice and clean.

I'm not jealous! I can go and buy a Super Soaker, or BB gun anytime I like at our local CT. Hell If I wanted to get really radical they could even supply a 495 FPS Airgun!

I hate to say this, but one of the Mosins was BNIB. Original wrapping (a kind of butcher/wax paper) still wrapped gently around the scope and gun in MINT. I was going to stop on my way back from the south but god bless whoever gets dibs.

^On my way from Edmonton to Banff for a conference. Didn't want to have a rifle sitting in my SUV, when the parking is valet. Might have been newsworthy but I'll have to suck it up and keep fingers crossed.

well i stopped by and sure enough left with a 53.....although I cant hold a grudge, #### eating grin on my face as i got her home and cleaned her up. quite happy. great price and the sales guy was more than willling to go through them and pick a few nice ones out with me

Remember-many CT locations are "associate stores"-meaning that they are not corporately owned-as such-in addition to the merch CT corporate supplies them, they can sell just about anything else they want (and are licensed for ). Gone are the days though, that CT corporate sold firearms in their national catalogues-supplied by Peterborough Guns (also gone)

HELL, I wish ! In the Vancouver area some of the stores barely carry the minumum of ammo never mind guns ! I guess it's up to the store owner and if they are anti gun we lose. I wish I would have known about the Leduc store last week as I was visiting family in Beaumont !, DAM !!

Grandview&Boundary have cabinets in place just waiting on CFO

I like to see guns being sold at CT. The only reservation I have is that it might put gun stores out of business. Gun shows as well.

The Cold Lake CT has gotten a really nice collection in the last 3 months, everything from different variants of CSA vz.58's and CZ 858's, to all the standard hunting rifles and shotguns, to about 20-30 different SKS's on display, probably around 10 SVT-40's in stock, all in all pretty nice. Their ammo section somehow got worse compared to 2 months ago. They were the only place I could find .32 WS locally here, now I think I might have to order it :(

No reservations here. Maybe it will give the gun show promoters and merchants a 'wake up call' and stop thinking the junk they sell is a gift from the gods.

eHmen! Also, more available options for consumers is never a bad thing. I welcome CT stores with open arms and, even though I know many hate them, I wish Wally World would start selling them again. Competition is great.

Apparently the CT in Abbotsford opened up their "hunting and fishing proshop" this weekend. Haven't had a chance to check it out yet, but I need to pick up some .308 ammo sometime this week to get my hunting rifle sighted in, so I'll have a look and post pics if there's anything to see.

Talked to my local CT representative - they were out of .22 ammo and I asked why. Said they wanted to carry it but they were having difficulty getting it from their distributors due to the run of ammo in the states.

You know what's really great about the growing popularity of a lot of these guns is the more we have sold in this country, the harder it will be for some anti gunners to effectively ban them later on if the political situation reverts to restrictive again.

Buy them up boys and girls. It will protect our future.

If AR15s had been sold at Canadian Tire in the 70s we would still be hunting with them today.

At least three stores in Winnipeg fully armed in the last week or so! Keep your fingers crossed, a nice rural area like Brandon is ripe for some gun sales.

I just checked out the St. James avenue location across from Polo Park, but no luck there. Which locations have you come across in Winnipeg that are selling them now? And did they have much of a selection and anything different from what is sold at Cabelas and Wholesale Sports?
Thanks,
