Looking for clubs to start up IDPA!

"your training is taught by professional instructors, at no cost to you other than the host range fees and targets. For those that have the ability and desire, Safety Officer, Range Officer, Match Director, and IDPA Instructor courses are also taught at no charge. "

Glad to see this its not going to take a ton of cash to get invoved.
Keep up the good work Steve, it is much appriecated

Free.... that is with 2 E's... That is what the training will cost you... You supply the range fees and targets. We will come down and train your SO's, RO's, Match Directors, and instructors courses or you can come to our range for the courses... this will also depend on everyone schedule.

We are building a solid foundation for this sport, and you can be a part of it.

If you have a question, please post it in this thread instead of a PM, that way everyone can benifit from your question as well.

So regarding training, how long does each course take? If this was done over a weekend could you take multiple courses?

What if people don't have their black badge yet?

Chris

The courses take various amounts of time. You certainly will not be able to do more than one at a time. Also, unlike some courses which are offered and by virtue of the insane course charge, you are walking away with a qualification just because you showed up, IDPA courses will be run with strict attention paid to Safety and the course training plan. When you finnish one of these courses you will be capable of carrying out the duties prescribed by the course, otherwise you will not be passed. Yes the courses are and will remain free, however you will need some experience to be course loaded. We plan to start with pre-established RO's from other disiplines in order to get things rolling quickly.

What course is this? I do not know of any that you get credit for "showing up".

I assume you are be sarcastic!

Actually I think he was expecting an answer...

Maybe you should find a way to promote IDPA without taking shots at other diciplines or organizations...it's cheap (not to mention tiring)

Looks like as shooters...we're destined to be our own worst enemies...

No not at all.

I have taken both the BB course and the CSSA PPC course and found both to be excellent programs.

I am unware of any other handgun course for competition. The CSSA Handgun safety course is a general one used extensively in Ontario and is equally excellent.

I was curious as to what you were refering....

Or do you prefer to talk in riddles??

In our cowboy action holster course we get points for the best looking holster. :dancingbanana:

I wonder if that diffused the situation. ;)

Just showing up

I have taken at least one "shooting course" where I walked away with a qualification for "just showing up" no test no nothing just show up and fill out the form. They're out there.

Even with courses that do have tests (practical or written) many are quite easy. I'm sure there are very few people on this board who could not pas the CFSC or CRFSC without taking the sixteen or so hours of instruction.

Which course?? Come on out and say it!!!!!

NB........your comments about CFSC and CRFSC is a red herring. It has NO bearing. THere is STILL a standard to meet. There is STILL testing!!! If you meet the standard due to earlier study and exposure you STILL meet the standard!

This whole issue is just so much BS. Plain and simple.

Well to get back on subject.

I currently shoot IPSC and enjoy it very much, but would also be interested in trying IDPA. I shoot out of the EOHC and if there are other members interested, it would be good to set something up.

...and you already have the tactical reload part down pat... :p (at least when it rains)

Come out to the Pembroke match when I post it, for March.

You get to shoot 1 match as a non-member and then if you want to continue you have to pony up for a membership.

Send me an e-mail with you particulars and I'll add you to my mailing list.

This is not IPSC bashing.
