I'm in the market right now for a rifle, but I haven't been able to find one that meets all my requirements.
I'd really like this rifle to be:
*Sub-moa
*Short action, .308
*Stainless / synthetic
*Backup Irons
*Detachable magazine
*1:11 or 1:12 twist
*Smooth bolt preferred
I'm not really interested in explaining why, or exploring other calibers. The Savage 16fcss and Sako Finnlight are the closest I've found, but neither have backup irons. The Savage Axis XP SS is another option, but the problem I'm having is finding where I'd install irons. I looked through all of Remington's catalogue and couldn't find anything that meets the criteria.
I understand that Savage has a custom shop, so that may be a possibility just to have irons slapped on a weather warrior. I noticed also that Ellwood Epps offers iron sight installation and sells Savage and Sako rifles, although I know if I ask which one to buy they'll just push the most expensive rifle on me.
If anyone has any info, help would be appreciated. Again, I'm not looking for the same 20 people that post on every thread to start talking about the 60's.
Thanks,
RS
