Hell, if RA could get their XCR-L in x39 down to $2000 CAD the M10x would be a memory. (If they M+M raises the price)

I'm not so sure about that. 7.62x39 out of an AR mag is always a gamble in my experience. 10 rounds pistol mags is enticing, but I suspect there are a number of people who would prefer the reliability of AK mags and would accept the other concessions.

At $1449, they were more than likely grey market guns. Nothing shady about it. For sure not the first time. M+M can't stop the grey market completely, but I'd assume they somehow put the brakes on whatever deal wanstals had in the works. I say boycott. Wanstals and Canada Ammo are more important to our community than those d-bags

Doubtful. Is the M10X not using a proprietary barrel? To get them up to 18.5", I don't think they grey market could afford to re-barrel them and resell them to Wantsall's and have everybody still making a decent margin. Not with a wholesale price hovering around $1000 US.

That is exactly why you don't write posts like "About $1600-$1700, I think they're really pushing it, but the market will bear it" when you know the cost should be $1450.

I doubt they're going to bother reading my post. If I'm right, then it's going to be a lot more than the price I'm quoting...

And I don't know what the cost "should be." I might just have Wanstall's wildly off the mark shot-in-the-dark best guess.

.

I don't see why people are making such a big deal about who submitted the sample.
because two retailers here in canada both say they put in the "extensive" work with the rcmp to bring this rifle to its NR status. Whoever submitted the rifle did the work and the other is a liar, pretty simple

A NR 7.62x39 for the same price of a NR .308? That would be insane. There's a reason why CSAs and T81s and M305as have the price they have. 7.62x39 is a fun caliber, but there are way better options out there, if you surpass the $1.500 threshold.

I don't think either of those is extensive work. And again Wanstalls NEVER said they submitted it. The extensive work could be anything else (or it could be that yes) BUT they still never said they submitted it.

I guess you called the wrong # then when you said you spoke to Wanstalls about all this cuz they clearly told me they NEVER submitted it and admit to thay

It's been available with a 18.6" barrel since shotshow 2016. No re-barrel required. At the most, a special order.

M+M probably going to be selling more of the rifles in Canada than in the US. And they're seeing dollar signs in their eyes.
Cdn firearm community is quite small and arent going to take any BS.

"Better" for what? Grizzly protection or saber-toothed cat hunting? Maybe some ppl tend to shoot a lot and consider x39 the best as round is cheap?
