M1 Garand Stripped Receivers $49.95

What kind of part are people thinking of using for the build? Beretta, Breda, Springfield, Winchester etc? It will be a challenge to find all Beretta parts...So far I've found a bolt assembly, rear sight assembly and gas cylinder w front sight. These parts are def more money then Springfield.

I am not concerned about authentic at all, I want an m1 garand that looks and works like an m1 garand! Having said that are there aftermarket/repro parts for these rifles! All new parts would be fantastic!

Mixmaster is fine for me. Just want one to shoot at a decent price. Not looking for cheap, but I've found patience and time spent looking for the right deals can save quite a bit of money on a build.

That being said, a Danish Stock, SA Bolt and SA Barrel are already sourced haha.

I've sourced some parts from a member here too. With this project I keep going back and forth from excitement about building a Garand to panic about the cost of building a Garand! It will be worth it in the end, and for now I hope to just build a shootable rifle that I can upgrade parts for later down the road. Still a long way away from a finished gun, but I am on my way!

I have the same back and fort!

Anyone out there actually assembled a Garand from parts?
Many years ago, I bought a complete but badly abused one.
It was from an auction of Tom Bongalis movie prop guns. The receiver was cracked so I was afraid to fire full power ammo thru it. (It was converted for blank firing)
So I have a complete gun with cracked receiver, and now I have a fresh receiver. I just have to pull the barrel and reinstall it again on the new one. How difficult is this?

Has to be timed right. There are some videos on youtube. Haven't done it yet but seems straight forward if you follow the proper steps. For 50 bucks, and the cost of a gunsmith I think even then you'd be ahead with a more usable rifle.

With all of the sudden interest in Garand parts, I'll bet the yanks are wondering what the heck happened up here. $49.00 for a receiver to them is unreal.

All kinds of info out in internet land. Winter is coming so its a good time to sit back and do some reading (online or otherwise) Just make sure you have a good vise, barrel clamp and receiver wrench. I know Hungry does it with a custom Princess auto receiver wrench for the m14s/m305. Headspace guage is a must (in my books) and I use long straight edges for the barrel timing/line up.NOS barrels shouldn't need to be finished reamed. Good luck.

Looks like johnone is on board and most likely sourcing parts now, hope all our cgn sources will belly up and help out with reasonably priced parts!
OK added up all the available parts from marstar and it is nowhere near complete $2025 + tax so Marstar is out for build parts, we need someone to come up with a build kit for a reasonable price,, that or I buy a complete garand and use the reciever for backup!
