M1 Garand Stripped Receivers $49.95

They ship out once or twice a week. I think they description says it takes about a week to get them out.

Ryan

Grr… still waiting on my Beretta unit :( I ordered on the 12th, but since I'm in Ottawa, I think this is actually the longest I EVER waited for an SFRC order - lol. Usually I get stuff from them in under 48hrs. Looking forward to see what arrives, I have almost every part on-hand or en-route to build it.

If you guys are looking for stocks, Boyd's has reproductions and they ship to Canada, and Numrich has stock sets.

I live close to the border.
What are the rules regarding a stock sent to a US address, then me picking it up and exporting it myself?
Same as guns and ammo (NOT ALLOWED) , or exempted (permitted)?

You still need export paperwork for stocks toot, they are considered "defense articles". I'm not sure it'd be worth your time or money to export yourself.

Ryan, is it at all possible to get your hands on some parts kits or barrels? We're dying here, right now I'm looking at a build cost of roughly $1300. Plus having to risk getting our ITAR "questionable" items taken at the border.

I thought that might be the case.

So a $60 used stock ends up costing at least double, maybe triple, when the $35 export fee, extra shipping costs, and the always popular UPS financial sodomizing is factored in.

That's why I'm resisting bringing anything in from the states. It just seems like such a gamble as to whether you get raped dry or wet.

I just use my Brownells dealer/business account. A complete (unfinished) body's stock for the M1 is about $98 dealer cost. They ship it right to me, too easy.

My receiver just arrived. 9 days from order to arrival. Not unreasonable, but it must be very busy at SFRC - this is the longest I've ever waited for product from them considering I'm in Ottawa.

Zero finish remaining on the receiver, but it's fundamentally sound and will work OK after a re-park. Absolutely gunned in hardened cosmolene. After 45 minutes, I'm 3/4 of the way through removing it with varsol and toothbrush ;)

Glad it made it ok. 9 days isn't bad. The description said it wouldn't ship for a week when you purchased it :)

I'm not complaining - only remarking that you must have some volume moving through the store as in the past my orders were even faster :)

the sig line thing is from the let-handed bear defence Norinco Type 97 thread in the black rifles forum - kind of an inside joke.

Just to throw it out there, we know there were about 22,000 Italian/Danish receivers stripped according to court documents from when the owners tried to export them 10 years back. Not all were Breda/Beretta.

Are you guys looking at a virtually inexhaustible supply of these receivers? Or is there a more finite amount such that we should all stock up right away?

Got mine cleaned up the other day. If I get a chance to post pics tonight I will. Easily 99% intact with the finish and almost no wear to speak of. The other 2 I bought show some visible wear and finish wear but all are great non the less.

I just sent off my PAL papers on Monday, after having my safety tests complete for over a year (yeah I know, procrastinator). Would it be possible to pay for one of these now to save it for when my license comes in?

This is a good question which I've also wondered about Are there any US made receivers in the hoard that you keep drawing on?

I doubt there are US receivers. The ones we currently have we parted out from the Danish rifle kits that were sent to the States in 2003. I don't think there were any American made rifles in that batch, or if was they would be in the single or double digit numbers.

I too am wondering how many are left. I know a few retailers (Lever and Marstar) were selling these for a few years.

When I bought my Danish Lend-Lease from Lever about 17 years ago, they were advertised as being Italian made.
But in fact they were US Springfield made mostly, with a few Danish parts added. (The barrel has the crown stamp and the rear sight has Danish letters. Also a sticker inside the stock channel with Danish words)

So the Danes definitely got US made guns as well as Italian.
