I think we should bug claven to give up a bit of info .(if he really knows something) After all isnt this forum about fellow gun nutz sharing information ,
For me im getting some 1 or 2 round enblocks till i get over the ping fetish .
although im sure i never will .
I think as there arnt that many they could have come from Luxembourg , they have an army of 2 or 3 guys so they probably been dropped alot . or even Monaco

My absolute max price remains 500 ... Then again I don't care about such things as matching numbers or manufacturer, just looking for a good shooter that doesn't have any parts falling off, a decent bore, and no major wooden chunks missing ... :D

They will sell. I think we as a community have generated enough interest in Milsurps that they will be bought up at the asking price. :)

Just wait and see.

Well <technically> I believe there is an exception out there for the Garand magazine-wise, with no limit set in the law ... I'm surprised how few people have actually picked up on that so far, taken bare Garand receivers, and let their imagination run wild ... (I believe Longshot's gunsmith has done something along those lines, but he is the only one I can think of.)

You had best read that exemption again: It allows 8 rounds.

Edited to add: Maybe you are right. The exemption reads:
Paragraph (1)(a) does not include any cartridge magazine that
(a) was originally designed or manufactured for use in a firearm that....is commonly known as the U.S. Rifle M1 (Garand) including the Beretta M1 Garand rifle, the Breda M1 Garand rifle and the Springfield Armoury M1 Garand rifle;

So we come to what is origionally designed or manufactured for the M1 Garand. Not adapted, but manufactured. Other than some 3 rond or 5 round clips, I only know of 8 rounders.

Does this exemption give carte-blanc to Garand receivers to be modified over to 40 round mags? That would be a tough call.

Just for giggles, were any BM59's produced from original receivers or were they all newly made ? I know the BM59 is a prohibited variant of the Garand, buit still, It's an avenue to be looked into.

Edit: I guess it all hinges on the words "originally" designed OR manufactured ... And since the firearm is the receiver in the eyes of the law .... Either it means "when the rifles were first produced and issued" or it means the broader "designed from the ground up to be used only in" (as opposed to "originally designed for another type of firearm but adapted to fit a Garand") Any actual lawyers on this board want to chip in ?

They might sell a few beat up mixmasters for $600 to $800 but the number of people desperate enough to pay that price is not infinite. Have to agree with Claven2 on this one. I don't think the Garand drought is as bad as some people think, there are a few guys on CGN that really want one but most of the desire to own one is probably driven by CGN as well. I bought one rifle from Milarm many years ago before I knew better and that was the end of my purchases with them, I later figured out that it was overpriced and over rated as to actual condition. I went to the store last year just to look around and the guys behind the counter were arrogant asses IMHO, I'm never going back.

AGREED, PRETTY MUCH MY EXPERIENCE TOO. Milarm may have been good in the past under Kerr,, But I heard it's been sold to Gord... lol oh boy if it was not for the EPS, I think milarm would be outta buiss:D

Correction, Milarm was never good.

Take my word for it. I dealt with Kerr and others since around 1982. The usual course of events was I would shop anywhere else in the world for a given product. When all else failed, I went to Milarm. After listening to the idiotic views of the staff, and being insulted by the cast of Rambo wannabes, I bough the item and vowed never to return again.

The employment ad for Milarm must read "only jackasses need apply." After surveying the resumes, Kerr would hire the biggest idiot of the lot. Perhaps they worked for cheap. Who knows? Perhaps it is only this type of person who can be relied upon to follow the sleezy business practices the place is infamous for.

dont like them either, horrible sales, one guy needs a punch right in the teeth, treats you like ur crap. i dont mind wheezy at least he will get you need even tho he is slow. all i buy there is the surplus ammo i cant find anywere else at the time. and it looks to me milarm buys from marstar and jacks the prices up they always have the same stock at the same time.
