M10x...

Here's one of the more attractive set-ups that I have seen with the Zhukov furniture....although the magnified optics may be overkill. I will probably go with a mid-range Holosun offering - perhaps their "Eotech Killer" HS510C....

I think you would probably be better off with a 503GU, motion sensing works well, I found Holosun C models to be flaky and solar op washes out and isn't useful, battery is almost always needed. Also on 503GU the battery is easier to remove for long term storage, quicker to change and the unit can be had for 150 less. It comes with low mount and lower 1/3 co-witness mounts. You can get absolute co-witness mount for 30 bucks. The difference is in field of view, but a big plus is also not having an exposed emitter like on the 510C.

Exact same models I use. LOVE these holosun r/d's.

Bonus is the low mount will prob serve better then any 1/3 cowitness etc... so no need on buying any other mounts

Which of our site sponsors carries these?
How would you compare them to an Aimpoint T1?

Just order it right from holosun.ca or FOC in Ajax usually has them instock.

To be honest, I prefer these over the T1/T2/H1/H2 now.

Does the exact same thing, with out any issues for a fraction of the price

Well i just cancelled my t81 order think I waited long enough for a rifle that’s supposedly cleared customs and in Canada

And.......you will be buying a M10x??

Most likely but I’m a little pre order gun shy and I never once said I wasn’t going to order one. I was on the pre order of the m10x despite how that played out I never once said anything bad about the rifle or wanstalls. Was I disappointed hell yea I ordered two but I never decided against getting one even with an elevated price. At least they sorted out the problem quickly and refunded my money.

This is irrelevant for M10X. But, in general.

I had tried Trijicon RMR, holosun HS403G and aimpoint H1 on my VZ58 mounted on gas piston cover. Holosun overheated and started flickering on/off, RMR kept on but experienced thermal drift about 2 MOA, aimpoint just kept going undeterred.

In all cases heat was at the point where you can't touch the railed cover, but can touch the sight.

So, what you're saying is that in all cases, the electronics and batteries of your sights were subjected to high temperatures far exceeding their stated operating range. Really, you are fortunate that any of them çontinued to function, let alone that they did not suffer permanent damage.

At last count I am running no less than 8 Holosun sights of differing model from most basic 403A up to the 515CU and the 510C. They all have their relative strengths and shortcomings but for the value to dollar ratio they simply cannot be beat. For reference, I also have Aimpoint Micro T1 and PRO optics, Mepro M21, Trijicon RMR (five of 'em on pistols!) , and so forth. Again, all have their pros and cons but for range games, the Holosun sights are entirely adequate. I have them on everything from PCCs through to pump .12ga shotguns. All have functioned without flaw for years of casual use and show every indication of continuing strong into the future. My M10X will be nothing more than a 7.62x39mm range "plinker", so based on my experience with the brand, that warrants a Holosun sight (type to be determined). It is a practical decision for me, based on need (post-cataract surgery). YMMV.....

The optics discussion is a nice intermission while we wait for the rifles.
What number of rounds/time frame were needed to heat up those optics to the fail points?
I have some PRO's and Eotechs, but was leaning to try something like a Holosun if I get the M10x.
I have also contemplated the Primary Arms 1-6x Scope with ACSS 7.62x39.
Still undecided which way to go.
As stated, they all have their unique benefits and tradeoffs.

....so what is the latest ETA on the M10x?

It was about 100 rounds on Vz with 4 5/30 magazines, changes and reloads in ambient temp around +20c. It wasn't what I consider failing temperatures. I could safely touch the optic so may be 70-80 degrees. Vz58 and AK, for that matter, heat up the front end really fast.

But to be safe i am switching to RS regulate rear mount for the aimpoint. M10x wouldn't have the overheating problem at all as the rail is free floated.

Why change it? I thought the Aimpoint had no problems running on top of the upper h/g on the vz already???

Why go to an RS side mount now?
