M203 Grenade launcher for ar15

instead of a 37mm m203 clone, aren't there any m203 clones that shoot shotshells? wouldn't that make 3-gun comps funner?

Ya musta misread my post... that's what I said. If you get a smooth bore or straight rifled M203 barrel, don't bother trying to rifle your projectiles because it doesn't help much... I.E. a rifled barrel is much better. lol.

OH I see what your saying....I bought 37mm rifled rounds and they were a total waste of time and money.
 
the 37mm flare launchers are far more fun here than in the states as loading any thing other than a marker or flare makes it a destructive device there. We do not have the same destructive device laws so as long as the projectile does not explode it would be legal.

Not true you can have exploding projos but they can't explode on impact.

100% correct... thank god for time delay fuse. You need a permit/license to cook up your own home made explosive projectiles though :( Stick with rocket propelled inert rounds for the most fun you can have without things exploding :)

And yeah, even 40mm rifled projectiles don't help much. Reminds me of my potato gun. It takes some nice aerodynamic shaping and balancing to get any descent distance.

1) The HK launcher IS being purchased by the U.S. "G".
2) It is NOT a sole source contract, the G is also buying an improved model
M203 that DOES accept flare and other extra length rounds. The barrel
opens an extra inch or two.
3) Newer, Or "H&K", does not make "better". I will put my ability (ex US Army
Infantry) with an M203 for rate of fire up against this side-opening design
any old day. Would I like to have it? Of course. Would I take it over a 203
"for real"? Nope. Accuracy? I can put a round thru your window at 150
with the "old" quadrant sight every time. Some claim the quadrant sight
is overly fragile. I disagree, take care of your gear instead of abusing it
and you'll have no problem. If you believe in Murphy, (and I do) carry a
spare......there is a trick(2 actually) for using this sight at night also.
4) The only M203 I EVER saw listed in "Access" in the last ten years was a
Colt that was originally listed @$3K, went up to $3.5K, and sold. This was
about 5-6 yrs. back? (Peter at Kenogami Lake out in Ont. had it.)

By the way, the member out in Sask is not the only one working on M203's to be available to the Canadian market.

These will be all MILSPEC. Yes, the barrels will be rifled. (Of course)
Launchers at about $3k just as someone observed they would go for if available. T.P. rounds are "projected" to be offered as well.

Good call. Thanks for reminding us to spend time to perfect our skill as suppose to spending money on a "new & improved" toy.
 
It's pretty easy to make a replica M203 accept any length round. Just push on the barrel stop catch at the end of the receiver, slide the barrel farther open, or right off, slide in a 12" goodie, slide back on, off ya go :) Works wonders for the rocket propelled rounds.
