M203 Grenade launcher for ar15

Seems like a whole lot of money wasted on something that can't be used for what it was designed for, just so the guy next to you on the range "might" think you're cool. Even the debate of smooth bore versus rifled seems senseless as I cannot envision anybody lobbying grenades through windows.

Oh well in for a penny in for a pound. I also can't see the point of spending $3000 for a Swiss sheet metal rifle, or $5,500 for a German plastic rifle to feel "elite."

But that is just an opinion. I know I'm not alone on this one, but hey....knock yourself out. To each his own. So by all means, go for it! Just tell me what the purpose of it is.......please. There are no wrong answers.

If we have to explain to you, you just won't understand.........:p;):D

Simply put, because we can!!!!!:D

SKBY.

Okay. Smacking dirt mounds and "because we can." I'll buy that. I'm hardly bitter, but just one of many observers (I am sure) that watch in awe, confusion and wonderment at this 40mm subject. It really is a sociological phenomenon that keeps coming up in threads. I'm just the only one who has piped up. As I said, to each his own. I hope that goes with opinions too.

You could say this about any firearm. Just take your whole statement and strike out the "offensive" words, and submit whatever firearm chokes your chicken.

40mm launchers add a whole new dimension to a guy's shooting pleasure. You can hit a B27 target at 100m and launch the projectiles 400m. And 400m is the usual referred to "battle distance" for many service rifles.

It's like the guys who shoot cannon stuff, or archery, or air rifle. It may not stroke your pole, but to the next guy it's heaven.

If you have fun doing it, that's the point.

Deckard, why don't you show us some of the fireams you enjoy? :)

I would personally LOVE to have a 40mm. Do I love it to the tune of $2500? We'll see, probably, but I'd have to trade something in to get it (be it Savings bonds or whatever)

My 37mm is a great hoot, and fires a 35mm film cannister out to 150 yards, but with zero accuracy, due to not being a rifled barrel, and not being a great projectile.

If I could get a rifled 37mm barrel, I'd snap it up in a minute!

40mm, well, damn, it'd be a blast!

On the other hand, I'm working on a semi-auto breach-loading pneumatic film cannister cannon right now (a la potato gun type) so we'll see where that goes. Having the ability to chunk out 35mm film cannisters from a semi-auto magazine fed system...well...should be fun! The next best thing to having my own personal MK 19 AGL, but I can fire it in my backyard!

Only an option if you don't have an upper handguard in place.

Use a cleaning rod section and go through the appropriate hole in the side of the handguard to trip the latch. This only applies to the full length M16A1/A2 USGI handguard with ladder sight.

Steve - Not 5 axis yet....we have 2 big ass 4-axis mazaks, a 4 axis Haas, and a good old 3 axis daewoo.

Unfortunaly, daewoo is not accurate enough for this thing, hitting +/- .003 is near impossible now, and work will not let me pay cost on mazaks, full billing rate only.

If we were slow it would be a different story, but they are all running 24/7 for the next 3 - 4 months for sure.

proto's are done manually and unfourtunalty have to be fit in as time allows. I am thinking about subing it out, as soon as I get a full drawing set done, and it quoted.

Armed - Unfourtuatly no new pics since the last ones that Koldt posted a while back - I shipped off the mount to KevB before I got any snaps of it.

I thought everyone knows the Zombie CQ stocks HE...

No kidding, I haven't been studying the zombie threat seriously enough to be honest, their weapons technology has certainly progressed from the rabid bite of earlier encounters...

Now this begs the question; just how effective is the 6mm airsoft projectile against a zombie? Any colour preference for the bb's? Should I be aiming for knuckle joints or the eyes, and which stings more? Do colour coordinated lasers reduce 'aggression'?
