M4 clones

The biggest problem with a Benelli M4's has nothing to do with their reliability or initial costs. It's the @#$ upgrades everyone does to theirs after they fall in love with it. That 2k shotgun just turned into a 3k gun in a heartbeat! LOL! Me? I had to get rid of that fixed pistol butt stock for a conventional stock. Mag tube extension (with cerakote finish as it's an H2O model) & spring and oversize bolt handle. Put a blue force sling on it & you've gone full retard! Absolutely love the shotgun, but I don't think I'll buy another anytime soon.... Quality not quantity! LOL!

No for me first and foremost it’s price 2400 bucks is a lot of cash . Yes I have a modern sporter that was 3500 to build a tavor bunch of 1022s all over 1500 in parts . The M4 is a scattergun the only thing I care is that it reliable and so far the 600 turknelli with crooked front site is . Would I spend 1800 to have a little nicer finish and a strait sight .. no . If the turknelli was a pos then I would have to spend the 2400 because I fell in love with the platform . The turknelli because it’s 600 bucks will see all kinds of torture testing being submerged in muddy water when it rides in my side by side . It will get banged up spray bombed and abused some more . My only worry is the bolt .

I had the shell stop break on mine. The distributor sent me a new one. My sights are straight but the gun can be a bit finicky. It could be cleaning related. I am tempted to see what tacord could do with it.

From the research I’ve done the Mesa tactical side saddle that replaces the oem optic rail is good but it’s aluminum and doesn’t always hold all the shells securely. The ones that go through the holes in the sides of the receiver tend to wear the holes. I just went with a Velcro one from amazon. It’s cheap so you can buy a couple and when it’s empty I can just tear it off and put another one on. If I don’t feel like a side saddle for some reason I can just pull it off. It’s pictured in my post above. I can get a close up if anyone wants

I assumed that was the S&J Hardware DSC, which is out of stock everywhere! I’ll search Amazon I guess.

The elastic style side-saddles (from S&J) are far better functionally than the hard type.

Yes, they're ugly. But they work.

They hold the shells securely under recoil, and while running around.
But they release shells easily when pulled out. Even if you're pulling the shells at a bit of an angle.

I know I have one on my Grizzly 8.5”, but nobody has them in stock :(

Edit: I found a Canadian vendor making a similar product here: http://www.perrozdesigns.com/shop/magazine-ammo-retention-gear-equipment/detachable-shotgun-card/

Here's a comparison shot of my Benelli M4 Entry, and my Sulun "Turknelli". The Sulun has been Cera-Koted "Cobalt" which resembles parkerizing to the naked eye and touch. The Benelli has a definite edge in terms of fit and finish, however they both feel the same when fired. Neither has suffered a malfunction to date, however the Sulun only has approx 60 slugs through it whereas the Benelli has a couple hundred.

been eyeing the Canucks Operator but can't seem to find much reviews or any info online about it... anyone here can help me out? worth getting or na?

Yeah for some reason the reviews through google are next to none. There's been a few on here but I'll give my opinion. It's damn near identical to the M4 I tried. If you like the M4 I'd go for it! (I found it nicer then the Komando P4).

Can you (as an owner of both a real M4 and a clone) tell me if the bolt pattern on the top rails are the same? I am looking at ordering a Mesa side saddle and don’t know if it will fit.

Thanks man!
Jeff

I was looking for the same info. Any sidesaddle rail that would work well would have to be a side-saddle rail type.

I did get a MESA rail / sidesaddle but the bolt patterns are different. It can be mounted, but will need work.
