MAC-10s and Cobrays

t-star, after watching this video I believe that's a makeable shot.
www.youtube.com/watch?v=s30IjVts73M

you can tell hickock's a mod if you know what to look for; the step at the back of the barrel, the 2 position change lever, not 3, and the guide rod doesn't have the "u" at the back - this disapates the recoil force over a wider area( ie the rear of the receiver) rather than one spot- concieveably, with extensive use, you could punch a hole right through the receiver in that one spot- mine is almost an exact dupe with isreali markings- and you CAN'T shove the change lever all the way forward, of course

Some of the open bolt sub-guns can be reasonably accurate though.
I've got a Franchi LF-57 that can hit the 10" steel plates at 100m with regularity.
Back in the day, before my Uzi became a baby killer, the same was true.
As with a lot of guns, I think ammo selection will have a large impact on performance, especially with 9mm at 100,

that wouldn't happen to be doutre's franchi, would it?- from the firing line away back when?- i've shot that one

like i said, it was a provincial thing- guys as far west as mb got confiscated , probably bc too- however, maybe they weren't members of the nfa and didn't have the knowledge base or the head of the nfa to file papers with the court; like i said, INTIMIDATION AND IGNORANCE are the bywords of the cfc- challenge in court with good valid arguements with a number of cases , and at least you have a chance;the arguement was that it was " too easily converted to full auto" and the rcmp had REPLACED THE ENITRE TRIGGER GROUP with a "virgin" uzi trigger group at the time- dave argued that ALL of the trigger groups imported to canada were "modified" ( at cbsa and cfc request) and were NOT CAPABLE as you couldn't push the change lever all the way forward- and that you CAN'T CHANGE THE RULES HALFWAY THROUGH THE GAME TO SUIT YOURSELF- those are his exact words;well , we won a little; we had to modify our uzis with a big washer so the trigger group was NON-REMOVABLE- they tried something different with the mp5/hk94/ whatever- they TOOK OUT the CHANGE LEVER , so the sear wasn't blocked, and you could fire f/a; i still remember the video they made at the time- 2 wiggles, pull, and she's out; we lost that one and the one with the sten
however, the judge gave the rcmp an admonishment for being "so devious and underhanded"
for those who don't know or are wondering, the nfa was very small at the time and was canada's only voice in firearms ; dat = DAVID A TOMLINSON; possibly the most brilliant mind in firearms law we'll ever see- the other head was ray laycock; before hinter come in and buggered the works

Thanks t-star, Very informative posts... Ive read them all. I am one of the younger gun owners, all this talk just seems out of this world for me. I noticed that CFO's and RCMP gun owners "love" story didn't started yesterday. Sad to see where we are now, and what Quebec is trying to do also.
We need to stand more united as gun owners if we want do dictate the Rules, So history doesn't repeat itself
Thanks again

The FA MAC's that are here are mostly powder springs 9mm and 45. Mitchell Werbell owned MAC and promoted the guns. Many came to Canada because they were
cheaper and faster to obtain than the uzi. There are a few 380's. The other gun that he promoted was the 223/308 Remington 40x repeater with sionics suppressor's.
I bought some of these during the day. The Remington 40x came with Realist 3x9 Leatherwood ART Scopes. I have one in 308, no sionics because they are illegal here
in Canada. But the rifle with the Realist ART Scope was the first combination that Jim Leatherwood started with. The M16 with Realist and sinonics was second.
Mitchell Werbell also trained select people at Sionics Inc, in Atlanta, in the use of these firearms. All of the instructor's were ex Government or Military types. They
were mostly the best in what they did and Mitchell Werbell hired them to be instructor's.

Five original (Powder Springs) Cobra INGRAM M10 SMG’s. All original and working, waiting to find a home with a museum or a Movie prop company. Could de-watt to special order only. The bottom girl is in .45 ACP the rest 9mm. I regard these as “fun guns” hardly a serious military issue SMG but for some “Special Ops” they did serve a purpose. I first saw one in the John Wayne movie “McQ” at the local cinema, I think my girl friend at the time was less than impressed that this farm kid understood so much about the high tech weapons that we saw at the movies, with hindsight I think I may have been ignoring her a little! That cinema is long gone, as has the girl friend and little did I know then that one day M10’s would live in my safe. Strange how life turns out.

It is not often the suppressor is larger than the gun!
