Maccabee Defense SLR information and updates

Many times, I believe the term was the RCMP "strongly encouraged" not using qd pins.

I would like to think the Smith and Etter (SFSS/RCMP)are not playing favorites when it comes to manufacturers. In all of our designs they would NOT comment anything in so far as design. I know, I asked both on occasions for any counsel to help navigate into NR design waters.
Personally i do not believe that take down pins are much of the criteria, as witnessed by the 102 which has both take down pins and employs a standard AR style trigger.
I suppose we will know soon enough.

I already have all the parts, even an extra barrel (which I need to sell), in order to build NR one.... pricey, but it is going to be fun... on the other hand, cheaper than current alternatives

All I need now is the receiver set. I got the tracking info for my Stag Arms parts. I won't be able to pick it up for a while though. I'm too busy having a break from reality and enjoying life in the Philippines. Ahhh... life is good

Wait... why the fack am I on cgn? lol

Well I'm back home to reality today and picked up a little something that was waiting for me :d

Now all I need is the receiver set. Hopefully MacDef is still on schedule. Can't wait to get putting my rifle together.

So I have a receiver set and an upper coming. The upper is going to be a 6.5 Grendel with stainless steel 20” barrel and for the receiver set I was thinking of doing the most economic .223/5.56 I can manage. So here is a list of parts I’ve ordered for it.

SLR build
Receiver set- $999
17” specter ballistics handguard - $79
Dominion arms 20” barrel-$110
TNA gas tube-$17
TNA Gas block-$40
Canadian National arms Stock and pistol grip -$41.00
Charging handle-$36
Canadian National arm buffer/stock/spring kit - $67
Complete Lower parts kit -$62
NEA BCG- 99.95
Sbi hex brake-$59.95
BCM pnt trigger assembly-$110

Total -1750ish before tax

Now these are not exact numbers but I’ll be within $60 of it. So pretty much same as what I paid for the bcl102 and getting close to double the price of the wk108c I have on order

All the parts are new, I could’ve saved some if I decided to go used but either way I’m happy with it.
Hopefully this post gives others an idea of total cost.

For a very low end budget build, yes...

Using a tool to prevent quick access to the FCG was seen as a positive step by the RCMP. This is a small detail to the shooting public.
I'm a member of the shooting public, and to be honest, this bolt is the only thing stopping me from ordering an SLR at this point.

Other NR tactical rifles have been approved with takedown pins. I don't think it's an RCMP requirement.

I feel the same way, but I ordered one regardless because I think I might get over it once I see the benefits of nr
