Make up my mind? T3x Lite SS in 6.5 CM or 308 Win?

I’m thinking a 6.5 CM with an 18 inch medium contour barrel, but then why not a 6.5 PRC.
Decisions huh.
 
What is all this crap about the 6.5 Creedmor? It doesn't do anything the 6.5x55 can't do better at 120 odd years old. Frankly sick of hearing about an American exercise in reinventing the wheel. This is all marketing to the gullible.
 
The 6.5 is very popular, is a decent cartridge and for those of us who don’t have the time to reload you can find just about any offering. If you have time and the components to reload, the 6.5x55 or 7-08 would do just as well if not better.

308 will also work - the 308 is so good it’s boring and many people need something fancier. If you are getting a Tikka, I highly reccomend putting a bell and carlson stock on it. It will increase accuracy and be more enjoyable off the bench, while still being light enough to hunt with.

It fits in a short action for one...not that it matters in a Tikka.

Its on the shelves, much easier to find, and has a much wider range of rifles chambered for it.

Chamber wise, the length/throat geometry is pretty bang on and the rifles tend to shoot well because of it.

Not seeing what isn't to love. With so many cartridges being so similar i really wonder why the 6.5 CM rubs so many people the wrong way, its quite irrational.

No one cusses out 7mm-08 for the sake of 7x57 lol


"Marketing to the gullible". Well, how is the Creedmoor marketed any differently than any other cartridge? Why is the buyer gullible? Examples?
 
I think the 6.5 wantmore has got so much attention that is gets tiring/boring
It is a decent cartridge but not the end all
It's like hearing all the time over and over how Chevy is so much better than Ford or Dodge ... lol

I can understand that and being tired of hearing about it. But this mythical belief of it being advertised/marketed in some way falsely or being overhyped is pretty funny. For all the people complaining about it, actual examples are pretty much hen's teeth.

That a piece of brass that flings a bullet can make so many grown men uncomfortable is...interesting lol
 
I came to the conclusion many years ago that new cartridges are invented on a regular basis in order to sell rifles.
And it works!
