My recently acquired Model 1903 6.5x54. The metal is all original and unaltered, The wood is good but at some point in the past was refinished so the checkering is now quite flat.
I may keep it, but I have talked to the guys at AHR about cutomizing my Brno ZG-47 so I may be forced to part with the Mannlicher to help pay for that.
Nice...you could probably find someone in NS who can "freshen up" the checkering, following the old pattern. I think Brian Densmore, the gunsmith and Brno dealer in Middle Musquodoboit does affordable checkering.

Picked up this .308 Sako carbine locally on the weekend. It came with a couple of sets of rings. I swapped out the Williams open sight for an original Sako receiver peep sight. Its not as old as my other Sakos, was only made in the mid-1980's, but its in near new condition, in a useful caliber, weighs only 7 pounds, and makes a nice companion piece to my very similar (but much rarer) full-stock Sako M-78 .22LR (same stock style, same checkering pattern, same buttplate, etc., see 3rd photo).
Aww man I had to check out this thread again! I'm glad I did! Quite the assortment of full stock beauty's.
Dang Rob even has a old .303 full stock lol very cool..
According to factory records it is one of only 34 that the factory produced in 1973, then they made virtually none until 1978 when they resumed with a slightly different version (including those unfortunate Williams sights).
Oh boy, I've been dreaming of the day I would join this club. As close to mint as you will likely ever find a 1952. Lovingly passed along from another CGN'er (thanks, LW).
Yes, Rob, that's post WWII and not a European chambering but I'm ecstatic to have it. Now if she had factory mounts then would be perfect but going with stock. Going to shoot some cast bullets this week and a great big whitetail buck this fall. (ok, that last part involves some speculation)
