What movie is this from please?
I believe “the longest day.”
Lord Lovett impersonation
John Wayne is a para if I remember correctly!
He played Lt. Col. Benjamin Vandervoort of the 82nd Airborne. In 1962 Vandervoort was still younger than Wayne, who portrayed him in 1944.
The Ruger RSI in 7 by 57 is sweet in the Lipseys special but when I put it side by side to the K95 there just is no comparison. K95 worth every penny. Many interchangeable barrels. The trigger is phenomenal on the K95 and no need for a set trigger in my view. CZ and Steyr make a set trigger and have them both but the K95 stands on its own. The 7 by 65 R is sure a nice caliber round. That Blaser is a jewel. If you handle it in Vancouver you will buy it. You might have to sell your car.
I agree with you, K95's are incredble guns. You can get them cheaper if you shop around. I bought the same stutzen as the one being sold on reliable gun - with an extra barrel. For about half the price.
Does the wooden side plate give the impression that the stock is a single piece of wood in person?
Very nice. Is that class 6 wood? I remember going to Isny in Bavaria to pick out my own wood. Right at the factory.
If you ever find other deals like that please share!
Calibers?
From far away maybe, not so much when you're close to it since there's the black outline of the receiver. It's a love it or hate it design.
I belive the attaché's were all grade 7 wood. I wish I could have picked my own! That would be a great experience.
I can let you know when I see the next one. They show up on US auction sites every now and again. Anything specific you're after? Buying second hand is the way to go with these rifles... the price has gone up a ton. My first K95 was $7500 new. Same rifle is now for sale at Precision Optics for $11,500.
When you purcahse from the US do you pay for the rifle directly or does the importer have to do it?
I was told the rules changed and you can't pay for your imports yourself.
That's how I did it. A US company with an FFL purchased the rifle and exported it to a canadian company, who then shipped it to me.
I'm sure you could try purchasing and importing it yourself... I've looked into it, but am not interested in navigating through that process.
