Marlin XL7 Reports

Had a chance to take my 30-06 XL 7 (that got from Clay here) to range this Saturday. Right out of the box 2" groups at 100 yard! Second three...1" grouping. The range officer thought I must be a marksman! :p...Hardely.. it is the gun.

Very pleasant and forgiving rifle to shoot. No excessive kicking at all. Everybody at the range agreed that it is now the champion of "the best bang for the buck" category, replacing Stevens 200.

We've had a few reports from clients that don't post here. All have been very positive. One client reported a 'buggered screw' when he removed the stock but all range reports have echoed this one. Nothing wrong with the Stevens 200 but they will have some serious competition in that price range now-if Marlin continues to offer at these prices.
We've got XS7's on order too but no delivery schedule yet.

OK, I just received the shipment notice. Here's what's on the way that is not spoken for. We hope to have them mid Feb:
25/06 camo (2)
30/06 camo (3)
30/06 black (2)
270 Win Black (2)
If you've got one on order and you don't see it here, not to worry, its coming. All preorders made were filled-this is what is left over. :)
There should be more in March but we can't confirm that yet. They are hard to get right now thanks to the US customers buying up everything since the election. We'll do our best.

it will definitely be interesting when they release the short action series. I know I will be even more interested once they release these with wood stocks.

anyone know if there are any third party wood stocks out there for the XL7 yet?
