I'm getting an XL7...maybe more then one. I'm just debating whether I want long action, long action wood or short action. I can't determine what the difference between the XS7 and the XS7Y is tho. anyone else?

We haven't got a one! 
We brought in about 45 in November(?) and didn't reorder until we saw how well they were selling. We didn't know much about them until we got the shipment so we didn't want to get stuck with a bunch of rifles we couldn't sell. We shouldn't have worried-we are very impressed and so were our clients. Part of the reason they sold so well was we bought them at par $ and sold them for $349 for the first while.
Good news is that as early as Tuesday we have about 40 more coming. We have black and camo in all three calibers except black 25/06 (haven't been able to get any yet) and the camo 270's are sold out already.
We have a standing order on XS7's and haven't got a delivery date yet. We hope they make the March 23(?) shipment. BTW, we have two .338 Marlin Express rifles on thar shipment.

Would this be a good al' round rig for him? (he can shoot a 30/06 without recoil issues) I think that's a good deal for a rifle and this scope?
I'm getting the XL7 there but I'm getting the scope from a guy on the EE as its cheaper than anywhere else I've seen it.

Since I have always bought Bushnell, either the Trophy series many moons ago, or the Elite series, I think this time I will try something different. I do not want to spend more money that I paid for the rifle, so I been looking at the Burris FF and maybe even a Vortex. I only wish I could find someone around here that has them so I can have a peek through the glass.
