Man I wish I could see these in person! I have been trying to get my hands on both shorties from Marstar to see them first hand.

Does anyone in the Ottawa area have them?

Cheers

Crappy tire in Medicine Hat has one of the 7.62x39 ones. I was in there one Monday and had a decent look at it, looks alright but pretty heavy for a rifle in 7.62x39, IMHO. price was $849 i believe.

I suggest replacing the front sight post with a Springfield Armory Scout sight post on these rifles. Minor detail, but money well spent in my opinion.
Happy shooting!

Popped a new stock on my fresh marstar socom, fired a few rounds tonight off the back porch, very nice gun

Well those pics sealed the deal for me HunterHenderson, I grabbed one. Just tore it apart & cleaned most of the oil off it, greased it & the range is calling...

Initial observations...
- the front post is HIGH, what's with that?
- the two 20 round mags have 3 tack welds on the bottom plate? What's with that?
- the front reversible flash hider needs to have two cuts made on it such that you can get an adjustable wrench on it. As it sits currently, there is no 'purchase' on the flash hider to cinch it on or off...

Cheers
Jay

1) taller front sight because it's closer to the rear sight. Necessary change.
2) I'm suspecting there's no rivet, the followers probably have a fin and the base is welded to stop you from changing stuff.
3) I don't recall the reversible flash hinders having any wrench flats, just put a pin through if you want to torque it.

Not sure why the mags are spot welded, doesn't matter to me cause I use legal 10 rounders in my 14's.........front sight is strangely high not sure why, shoots well.........my dominion arms socom isn't that high.

Both my flash hiders are lock tighted backwards like in my photo, nothing else required in my books

Front sight is cheap and simple to fix. pics of my dominion arms incoming
