Woo-hoo! Another wonderful parcel arrived from Marstar last night
In it was the replacement buttstock for my TNW MG34 (the original arrived with a crack that revealed itself when I wiped off the packing oil, so I returned it for replacement). The new butt is a really nice mid-war brown bakelite stock that offsets the black bakelite grips nicely. Also, much of the accessory gear I had ordered came in (basically all the Marstar stuff, though I'm still waiting on some e-bay and IMA-USA parcels to arrive)
So far I'm up to something like 15 belts, about 30% are WW2 german, the balance are Yugo - sadly I only have one starter tab, though a second is en-route. Three ammo baskets (2 WW2 German and one post-war Yugo), a WW2 basket carrier, post-war gunner's kit, and a spare 1940 production MG34 barrel. Still looking for ammo as I only have a few hundred rounds at this time - it won't last long.
Still waiting on a WW2 barrel carrier, another starter tab, a brass catcher, a WW2 ammo box, and a 3x5 nazi flag to use a photo backdrop
Also following up a lead on a Lafette 34 and a Gurtfuller 34 - though I am dreading those hits to the wallet
I'll put up some preliminary piccys in its own thread over the next coupla days with better photos once all the props arrive.
the MG34 itself is a dot43.
