***May Purchases***

Woo-hoo! Another wonderful parcel arrived from Marstar last night :) In it was the replacement buttstock for my TNW MG34 (the original arrived with a crack that revealed itself when I wiped off the packing oil, so I returned it for replacement). The new butt is a really nice mid-war brown bakelite stock that offsets the black bakelite grips nicely. Also, much of the accessory gear I had ordered came in (basically all the Marstar stuff, though I'm still waiting on some e-bay and IMA-USA parcels to arrive) :)

So far I'm up to something like 15 belts, about 30% are WW2 german, the balance are Yugo - sadly I only have one starter tab, though a second is en-route. Three ammo baskets (2 WW2 German and one post-war Yugo), a WW2 basket carrier, post-war gunner's kit, and a spare 1940 production MG34 barrel. Still looking for ammo as I only have a few hundred rounds at this time - it won't last long.

Still waiting on a WW2 barrel carrier, another starter tab, a brass catcher, a WW2 ammo box, and a 3x5 nazi flag to use a photo backdrop ;) Also following up a lead on a Lafette 34 and a Gurtfuller 34 - though I am dreading those hits to the wallet ;)

I'll put up some preliminary piccys in its own thread over the next coupla days with better photos once all the props arrive.

the MG34 itself is a dot43.

1945 #4 mk1 (T)

I managed to get one of the unscoped T's that C.S. had for sale in early April. Arrived in pretty good condition. Bore was filthy. Gave her a good cleaning. Bore is a little dark but rifling is strong.

However blasphemous, I decided to use a s&k mount and 2.5x20 weaver steel scope since correct mount and #32 scope running around $2000 USD.

Have only shot at 50 yards so far but she shoots well - grouped about 3/4" at that range.

ok, another May purchase. Modelo 1889 Bodeo Italian Ordnance revolver in 10.4mm Italian. Made in 1894 at Glisenti in Brescia, so it's a CFC lettered antique ;)

Anyone know where to get or how to form 10.4mm brass? Fiocci still makes the ammo, but being able to roll my own would be nice too.

Can you get spare springs, bolt, firing pin, etc from Marstar?

If you already have a legal MG34 C/A or TNW, springs and firing pins, yes. Bolt - not sure. IF you have a C/A - definitely. If you have a TNW, I'm not 100% sure? The TNW bolt has the F/A sear slot welded up and re-milled flush.

I do know Marstar won't usually sell anyone in Canada MG34 parts unless they already have a registered MG34.

More curious on the TNW parts situation in case you needed a major or minor replacement part in case something broke or got lost.

VERY few parts are TNW unique, and all of those are sold as replacement parts in the states. I *think* marstar can get spares too, but honestly - I've seen all the parts and any decent gunsmith should be able to recreate the TNW mods if needs be.

1945 #4 mk1 T

Tonight I shot 4 rounds at 100 yds from the bench and was happy with the results from the 1945 #4 mk1 (T). I use square cut black construction paper targets against a white background. This square is 2 inches.

The crosshairs of the 2.5x scope pretty much completely covers the 2" square at 100 yds. Frankly, I was amazed all 4 hit the square.
