Meeting place for Newbies and Mentors - Sask.

This is another link I came up with tonight: http://www.huntercourse.com/canada/saskatchewan/
I don't know anything about it though so I would research it carefully.

.

You will see that through this site, it only gets you your Sask Hunter ed certificute and not your PAL. Most instructors can test for the PAL at the same time but will charge more for it as the two courses are not related in the govt eyes, and require seperate testing to be administered.

Willing to answer reloading and any questions around rifle and rimfire shooting. I'm a hopeless failure when it comes to shotguns. If you are in my area I can arrange some range time as well.

got a question, Have you or any one you know tried superformance or leverevolution in an 8mm mauser JS (.323)

Newbie from regina

Hi guys, Im from Regina and my buddy and I are interested in acquiring restricted and non restricted license. Personally I like guns but never got further than trying it on a paid range like the one in edmonton. I've been searching for quite some time now for some info or someone to point me at the right direction.

Here are some of the questions that comes to mind.
1.)What is the best way to acquire a restricted and non restricted license? Through an instructor? Online? Or just read a book and challenge the exams?

2.) If its through an instructor. Anybody know any instructors in Regina with a flexible schedule? (we work in production on shift schedules and sometimes we get weekends off sometimes we don't)

3.)How much does it normally cost?

Thanks in advance, nice site

Will seek help

Hi Powdergun, basically a .22 shooter but have graduated up to a 22-250 and the M14, so reloading comes to mind as buying center fire and paying shipping is getting expensive.
Am located in Chaplin.
Thanks for reply

Hi I wrote you some time back as "bob ackman" and realized I should not have used name, so changed to collieman.

Still looking for help on reloading, .308 Win and 22-250. I am located in Chaplin, half way between MJ and SC.

Thanks for your reply.

Hi all,

Quite a newbie. I'm 25, been shooting a few rounds a year for the last 6 or 8 years. Late last year I decided to pursue it more actively and got my PAL (with Jack). I shot my first deer in November. Just bought a Weatherby Vanguard .308 and now looking for a basic 10/22.

Plans for the future are:
Learn to call coyotes.
Shoot Coyotes.
Learn to skin coyotes.
Shoot gophers.
Put considerably more rounds down range.
Continue hunting bigger game.

If anyone is willing to show me some of these skills I'd be appreciative.

1)Check with the Wildlife Fed. in Regina they should be more than willing to help you out.

A majority of people windup just doing a challenge. The problem with most instructors is that they wait for a larger class to instruct, then it will also include the Sask. Hunter ed course too.

2) cant help you out here.

3) cost can vary from instructor to instructor. I charge $50 for every test administered.

Hey buddy. Must say, I'm not surprised to bump into you here :p

Restricted Gun question. I know you need an ATT to and from the range to the place of storage, meaning you would only be shooting at the range. My question is what if you live in the country and have 160 or so acres, which is your storage address, could you fire the weapon on your own property? Or would you need to register as an outdoor gun range to be able to fire a restricted weapon on your own property?

I'm a just getting back into this and have fired restricted weapons at a range but wondered about any other possibilities.

Does anyone know where in the Battlefords area I could take the test required for a P.A.L.? Also I took hunters safety back in the 80's and had a F.A.C. in the 90's, am I still required to take the test?

Firearms Collection

Not sure if this is the right place to post or not, but my father (Wayne.sk.ca) was a member of this forum and was also an avid target shooter and collector of rifles.
My father has passed away and left his large collection that we would like to sell. Here is the link to my blog detailing what is for sale.

Discharge of a restricted firearm at other than an approved range is a federal offense I believe. Your land your law is something i have heard my grandfather say over and over back in the day...

To be safe and legal I would look into becoming an approved range. But I have a feeling that is more of a hassle than getting an ATT and driving to the range.

In the Equipment Exchange section of this forum is the proper place to sell your firearms. If you become a member you can gain access to that section of the forum. Within that section there is sub menus where you can find the appropriate place to file your sale.

As for the discussion for your AR-15 you will find the appropriate forum under Black and Green rifles

Im in Saskatoon. Other than cadet training, im new to this sport and looking for farms that might need gopher clearing and eventually bigger game hunting.
