Western Quebec Hunters

I would be interested in talking with anyone in my area who would like to do some hunting.
I am new to the sport, with only one moose season under my belt. Plans are already made for Moose season this fall in the Gaspe, but aside from that, I have yet to try for deer, or turkey, waterfowl, upland, etc. and would like to try some more local hunting.
If anyone else wants to get out there as bad as me or you're looking for another rifle for your group....send me a pm.
I'm in Gatineau, and am thinking zones: 10, 11, 12, but will discuss anything:rolleyes:

Thanks for looking!

Need a hunter for the Ontario deer hunting season to hunt in area 49 and possibly some other WMU’s. We own land and hunt crown land as well, some of it is very difficult access so you will not see anyone else. Would like to get together before the season for a couple of small game hunts, fishing, and or target shoots. PM me if you are interested.

Hi Folks! Looking for semi-experienced or experienced partners to hunt with out of Edmonton. New to the area and it's quite a bit different than BC with regards to land access. I'm not new to shooting, not new to the outdoors or hard work, but this is only my second hunting season. I'm up for scouting trips, deer hunts, elk, and waterfowl and upland birds. I'm a shotgunner mostly but if I get with a group where I need a .308 I will *grudgingly* pick up that Weatherby I've been looking at for the last year.

Hey folks Im looking for someone in the Edmonton area that could possibly show me the ropes when it comes to waterfowling. I've been hunting big game (deer, moose, elk) and grouse for a number of years but I am completely green when it comes to ducks. I keep my ears open and I am really anxious to learn. If there is anyone willing to spare me some time it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I am wondering if anyone in the Ottawa area is going for Bear and could take me with them. I have always wanted to hunt bear but I have no idea how to bait them or an area where to go in Ottawa.

Just Getting Started

I've been lurking and reading in the hunting section for a while now.
New hunter from Southern Ontario near Mississauga just getting started a bit late (early 30's).
This is my first post to get myself into the EE forum.

My PAL was approved yesterday and looking to have it within 2 weeks. Hunting courses Ed and Turkey are complete and now I'm shopping for gear!
Being in Southern Ontario I figure I'm going to start with a 12ga shotgun and see where that takes me. I've been out for some skeet and trap as a guest which was a lot of fun.

Game I'm interested in this fall season:
  • Geese
  • Ducks
  • Rabbit
  • Turkey
We'll see about large game later on once I've figured out my firearm(s) and a few places secured to hunt. Lots of learning to do so if someone in the area wouldn't mind taking on a newbie lets get a coffee and talk and/or walk the bush. I could use some help scouting locations and habitat of what to look for.

Thanks for all the help so far.

I'm looking for a mentor for the deer hunt NEXT season (fall 2013)... I didn't apply for deer this year because I want to cut my teeth (so to speak) on small game first... I'm going for rabbits and grouse at the end of Sept... I'd be willing to hunt most any WMU south of North Bay, ON.

Not so much a mentor needed, just would like someone to hunt on opening day with for Duck/Geese. My buddy is on course and cant get the day off as I do all ready.

I am located in Oromocto, NB and willing to drive an hour to meet with someone. So if someone is interested in taking on a fellow duck hunter for first day, it would be much appreciated.

ps: Not new to waterfowling, have been doing it for many years, so not a newb to the sport.

Edit: Or I'll even take someone along with me if theyd like. I can go it alone, just prefer someone else to share the experience with.

Calgary Waterfowler

Hi there,

Just moved to Alberta a short while ago, looking to try and meet some fellow waterfowlers to hit the sloughs and fields with. I am fully kitted out for ducks, (floating dekes, mojos, waders, calls and layout blind) If anyone wants to get out somewhere they had in mind I don't mind doing some driving and bringing extra gear.

PM me if you would rather, and hopefully we can get out and put some ducks on the ground!

Newbie looking for someone to help me learn the ropes. Interested in duck , geese, turkey and upland game. I also have a trained labrador retriever which will also be in his first year of hunting. Located in the GTA.

Hi all,
I am currently living in ottawa and my family has a bunch of prime coyote land in mallorytown ontario. I have been out for yotes several times when i lived in manitoba and loved it. I have never shot one but I enjoyed tagging along. If any yote hunters within driving distance would like to take advantage of all the land this winter between dec 16 and jan 2 let me know.

All i ask is that i can tag along and learn some stuff!

Any other hunting newbies like myself interested in getting together and trying to learn ourselves? Like a newbie support group :)

Yes... I keep trying to get the g/f to come scout with me, but to no avail.

Interested in WMU 406, out past Elbow Falls. Just bought a 2'x3' land-use map yesterday.

* waiting for my Ranch Hand to get fitted with the full stock (2-3weeks).

I have my W.I.N., but no H/S/course yet (trying for Sept 18-23).

:) PM me if interested.

Hey all- Looked through this thread as it struck a chord; is anyone getting responses here? It looks like a big ol' singles night or something, which is too bad- I appreciate the intent of the thread.
Can't get the experience and know-how without a bit of encouragement, especially all the Little Things.

Well, like many others here, raised around hunting (in MT) but now all the old mentors are gone. Looks like I'll have to DIY and establish the tradition again on my own.

Looking for a respectful experience in the wilderness, working hard and not taking shots I'm not sure of, and bringing home honest food for the family.
Elk in BC 4-20? Mule or whitetail in 5-2,3, or 5-14?
Hopefully October will be a busy one...
