Allright, maybe I was a little harsh........
There are just too many rules for it to be fun for everyone to enjoy, and not enough for it to be challenging.
Hitzy's rules would have went something like this:
For a Fun shoot, any military issued rifle, any shooting position (even bench), any kind of ammo, 10 rounds on target, post results.
For more challenging competition, only WWII and prior issued arms, any kind of ammo, 10 rounds each-standing, sitting, prone, post results.

I think your "fun shoot" just qualifies as a thread in which people show targets they've shot at one time or another. The rules make it standardized so that an actual comparison can be made.

Hitzy's rules would have went something like this:
For a Fun shoot, any military issued rifle, any shooting position (even bench), any kind of ammo, 10 rounds on target, post results.

Then just watch the Norinco M-14 guys come flying over. Perhaps start up a main battle rifles postal match.

P.S. I've shot my target, my 6" mosin groups will not be posted

You should try to standardize by posting a dated *.pdf downloadable "official" target with a big black center like the one proposed by Rifle Guy.
