These are both utility guns. The guy who owns the SS is a bit more weight conscious than I am when it comes to his gear. Neither of us is going to go up there with a rifle we haven't practiced with. He's not recoil sensitive at all, so he lightened his gun up radically. I am recoil sensitive, so longer barrel and more weight for me! If you've ever had a bear stroll through your campsite at night, the utility of a weaponlight is undeniable. These are guns that have been optimized for their users and intended tasks: Getting carried through some of the most beautiful wild places on earth, by people who don't leave a trace of their passing, making sure the people holding them are at the top of the local food chain.
