More details from the Globe and Mail

Hmm. I can see a scenario where Bloggins takes his Mini-14 onto Crown Land to hunt but comes out of the woods-empty handed and straight into the path of an overzealous CO who says Bloggins was only target shooting.

I would suggest that if you emerge from the woods during hunting season properly attired, with a hunting licence, and a good explanation you would be pretty safe...if the officer heard volleys of gunfire before you emerged without any of the above you may be in a bit of trouble...

For those who think Peter MacKay would be a better candidate than Derek, read this article about Peter's belief on which firearms should be banned in Canada :

Maybe if you’re a one issue voter and that issue is guns. If a hardcore “social-conservative” is leading the party count me out regardless of the firearms standpoint.

Is it too much to ask for a socially progressive fiscal conservative? One can dream I suppose.

Guns aren’t the single issue, it’s the mentality of restricting peaceful people from owning things. If you still think “moderate” gun control is about guns, I suggest you do some hard thinking.

Oh come on. If we have learned anything recently it;s that Canadians only want someone young-ish and somewhat charismatic, who looks good shirtless.

It's not about the guns. It's about the social-conservative right trying to control people's freedoms, just the same as the far left-wing. Sloan wants to start a debate on abortion (hint: it's already been decided by a majority), is very vague about his feelings and policy on homosexuals and non-traditional families, and questions the national loyalty and patriotism of his opponents (Dr. Tam) instead of just sticking to the facts (reminds me of one Senator Joe McCarthy). Not to mention the guy is a fundamentalist Christian; personal choice, but I refuse to empower any man who believes the laws of men must be subservient to the laws of "god".

I just want a government that sticks to the fundamentals: Economic Policy, National Infrastructure, Education, Healthcare, Foreign Affairs, and National Defence. Beyond that, let people do what they want to find fulfillment and joy so long as they pay for it and it doesn't harm others (actual harm; not this hurt feelings BS so prevalent today). Law abiding gun owner wants a 30rd AR-15, perfect. ### couple are great parents and want to raise 50 children, perfect. Dude wants to marry 10 different women and they all consent, good luck to him, but go for it.

I know it's a pipe dream, but I'll vote for whoever offers greatest freedom while maintaining proper fiscal balance.

Fair point....I have not yet seen him shirtless. Could be a game-changer.

Almost like some kind of ...Progressive Conservative! Continuing to do business in the Reform/Alliance framework is outmoded. The world has changed.

I'm on the same page. Just let adults be adults. Why is this so difficult?

it is a fatal error to assume that only conservatives are gun owners in this country who care about the right to own firearms - or that the conservative party, or any other party will come to the rescue. that type of thinking will lead absolutely nowhere

Peter mckay has spent far far too much time in liberal universities to be a conservative Prime Minister

What is your problem with christians?

So let me get this straight, you elude to that your in the CAF, yet don't believe in God, the only Queen you respect is probably drag. AAAND from what it sounds like you have a very fluid sense of morality, and expect every one to be on board with the destruction of the national identity vis a vie acceptance of non nuclear families as the norm, and you don't think that you're a national security risk? You want a career in the airline industry?

No chance you have a bad day, and your gender bending hormone therapy causes you to be depressed and fly a plane into the side of a mountain eh.

When Canada was governed under "socially conservative" governments (i.e. anything pre Trudeau sr basically)
We had:

-No mass shootings
-Ability to own basically any firearm
-A strong national identity and homogeneous society
-Higher birth rate (surprise you actually need this btw)
-No domestic terrorism (remember that sihk that killed several hundred people in Canada and is currently out of prison after serving 15 years?)

Yeah, sounds ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE, lets vote for more tax payer funded ### changes and drag queen kids story hour.

So back in 1967? When, adjusted for inflation, the per capita GDP was $23,000? When approximately 25% of the population lived in poverty? When most people couldn't afford to own more than one rifle, let alone a cottage, ATV's, boats, snowmobiles, multiple cars, go on vacations, etc? When infant mortality was nearly five times what it is now? Yeah, sounds like a dream come true.....but at least everyone was Caucasian, right? Oh wait...that's not correct.

A homogeneous society? Canada has never, and will never, have a homogeneous society. English, French, Scottish, Irish, Ukrainian, Polish, Indian, Chinese and countless others have been present here since before the founding of the country, as have most of the major religions on earth. Oh yeah, and indigenous people......almost forgot about them.....probably the goal of the sixties scoop and other excellent social conservative policies. If institutionalized destruction of families and cultures doesn't qualify as domestic terrorism I'm not sure what does?

I'm not advocating the taxpayer fund elective surgery. But I also have no problem if people elect to have that done. That said, I'd rather pay for a ### change for someone who would appreciate it than a joint replacement for an overweight individual or a lung transplant for a smoker who have demonstrated a lack of care for their bodies. Nor do I care if a drag queen reads to my children. Literacy is literacy. Ever notice how kids don't give a ####? They just want to find the joy in life. Adults could learn something from that.

Oh, don't be so self-centered. It's not just Christians, it's the ultra-conservative sect of any religion. I don't care what, who, or when people worship, but don't try to bring the made up moralities of your fiction into what should be secular governance.

Allude. The word you're looking for is allude. I alluded to my employment. You want to elude the Calgary police tac-team when they come to grab your guns. I read (not "red", or "reed", in case you were getting confused) Kenney is working hard on that, so you may be safe. Good for him! Also, if your first language isn't English your literacy is exceptional, well done, and I apologize for the previous two lines.

Reservist, so it depends who you ask? Correct. I have immense respect for the Queen and those of her generation; they faced down true evil and made the world in which we live today. If fluid morality is treating people as people, I guess so? I've served with heterosexuals, homosexuals, transsexuals, and probably other types of ###uals I'm not even aware of, and yet they all performed their jobs admirably. Most were also exceptional people. I don't care who they choose to be with, if they can fly well and have my back, I'll have theirs. Anyplace, anytime. Not sure how that destroys national identity.

Probably not a national security risk, though I'm not the one who makes that assessment. Call the RCMP? or CSIS? Not sure who does them. I just fill out the forms every few years and never hear back.

I have a career in the airline industry, though it's a little tenuous at the moment. For some reason nobody travels anymore. Layoffs inbound, no doubt, only question is how deep will they cut.

I am deeply sorry to disappoint but I'm about as boring as it gets. White guy, early 40's, 5'11", 175lbs, married to a white woman, three kids (all three are also white, in case you were curious), have a dog, live in a semi-rural area, own a Toyota Sienna and 12 year old Toyota Corolla, raised in a Catholic household by both of my biological parents, not on any meds recreational or otherwise including alcohol. I don't even have a tattoo. Maybe I should get a Molon Labe tattoo....that would be exciting!

Even being so white bread boring there's always a possibility of having a bad day. Maybe the tail-plane decides to trim you into the ground, maybe you smash a whole bunch of birds and lose your engines, or maybe the Iranians shoot you down? You just always hope it doesn't come to that.

No English isn't my first language. Nor my second. I was raised by immigrants whom immigrated to Quebec in the 60's and 70's so it was X then French then english. I apologize for my literacy. I moved/kicked out on my own at 14 and didn't finish school. I have worked since I was 15 and didn't get the privilege of finishing High School so ya my writing might be fucc'd but i express my self just fine and in some cases better than most. Are you glad you attacked someones literacy now? I also have worked and paid Fucc'n taxes since i was 15, went back to finish school, put my self through training, courses, certification, etc etc etc and worked not served overseas. I never took a cent of public funds, never planned life with a publicly funded safety net to come back to. Nor did i get the privilege of having educational and housing security ever in my life. I earned it all. Like most on here. Thats why some are more passionate than others when Government decides to confiscate what you have worked for.

And please don't threaten me with police, Most cops are just as outraged as I am and I express here what is talked about amongst my friends who are.

I sincerely hope your white bread arse doesn't feel any economic suffering, thats sincere. I never want even my worst enemy to not be able to afford the life they built. especially when theres kids.

I just expect someone who has skin in the game to be more understanding that the world can change in an instant. And that arms are a hedge to that change. Every one deserves the right to protect themselves from evil, biblical or not and to have a fighting chance.

And molon labe is a fcukn lame tattoo. esp if you don't have the heritage to back it up.

Hi guys, I have looked at the list here and the official one posted. Am I correct in not seeing the Tavor X95 on the banned list?

Thank you
