Mossberg 500/590 Info

Has anyone ever replaced the ghost ring sight on the Blackwater edition 590A1? It doesn't have protective ears and won't elevate high enough for the front sight. Shoots like 2 feet high at 50 yards lol. Ran it with a red dot for years of 3 gun because of this little design flaw and would prefer to have just ghost rings.

If it's shooting high , you need to lower the rear sight , the saying is, "the rear sight is your friend, it goes were you want to go."
So , to hit lower , lower it.
That's if I understand you correctly.

You are correct sir. I should not be posting stuff after my post dinner bourbon(s). I had to raise the rear site to it's uppermost position to get it onto paper as it was shooting way low ( not high). It just seems so fragile sitting that high without protective ears. On the plus side with the heavy barrel it is quite accurate with slugs other than POA.

Lol, no worries, I do it all the time as well.
LPA make a nice rail mounted rear ghost ring sight for the mossberg, it might sit higher than the XS ones and it's well protected by hefty dogears.
You can ether just put it on the rail you have and unscrew the old GRS , or get a new rail and sell the old one on the EE to recoup the cost.
The XS rail GRS are a little hard to come by up here , so it should sell quick.
 
I'm probably wording this poorly, if you had to raise the rear sight to rase the point of impact and now it sits so high that it's a concern, you could lower the rear sight back to where it was shooting low and rase the point of impact by filing down the front sight, it shouldn't take much , then just reblue the top.
I had to do that with a 590a1, it had a xs front sight and a older mossberg factory rear sight that the elevation was maxed out and still shot low.

Thanks for the input, the LPA looks exactly what I'm looking for. When I first bought the gun and checked online regarding the issue a couple of guys ended up filing the front sight down to fix the issue as well. I took the easy fix of just putting a red dot on it over 10 years ago. A buddy has a 590 as well and I may have to swap rear sights to see if it makes a difference.

I haven't finished reading all.the information here yet. Just wondering if there is anybody in Canada selling the alloy trigger guard as a stand alone part?

My apologies if this has been answered but does anybody know if the Magpul forward sling mount for the 590 will work on a 14 inch 590a1?
 
Dedicated fit for Mossberg 590A1 models with factory extended magazine tube and will not fit other Mossberg models.
