Wow, some gorgeous rifles being shared here.
Love the original post about clean lines, stainless vs. synthetic, traditional wood… i can completely relate.
For what it’s worth, after owning many rifles over the years, and on the same quest to find the perfect rifle, I think I finally landed on my pick. My Sako 85 Carbonlite in .30-06 is sleek, incredibly accurate, and with the Swaro Z6i 2-12 BT on top, it’s everything I need in a hunting rifle.
I myself could never choose between synthetic and traditional wood, so I picked up an 85 Hunter stock as well. I usually plan my season ahead: if I know I’ll be doing a lot of lightweight alpine hunts, I run the synthetic. If it’s a more relaxed season, I switch over to the wood. I genuinely love both looks.
I dropped my elk at 500 yards perfectly placed this month, and I’ve been successful every season for a long time with this rifle.
This baby has been nothing but amazing for me, and with any luck, it’ll stay in the family for a long time.
But everyone’s got there preferences, and what does it for me, may not do it for everyone else
