Most overrated rifle

In my opinion and experience some overrated rifles are Savage 11 and 111s, Winchester 94s [no experience with Miroku], Tika T3s, I may own a Tikka again my Wife still has one but very unlikely to own a Savage or a win 94.

Why all the hate for 10/22s? I've not used one for serious target shooting, but the sporter I have has been a very good rifle.

Nothing wrong with the 10/22 fer me & I've owned & tweeked a pile of 'em over the years and they all worked fine for plinkfests & gopher massacre missions.
I reckon the most hype associated with the platform be from the aftermarket parts suppliers that promise the moon, but make the wallets hurt for the less savvy gun folk out there.
;)

In this instance, the comment of my post was directed straight to The Outsiders comment or observation, not at a question of Ruger model or variation.

Wasnt clear to me sorry.

Funny, trolling would be posting a 3/4” group at 25 yards and bragging about what a great mod you did to your .22 to get to do this and how it only took you an hour (how bad was it before?). Sorry, my comments stand. 10/22’s need work or money to even be lack lustre shooters. No, 1/2” at 25 yards is not impressive never mind 3/4” of an inch.

This all doesn’t matter if your happy.

That mod transformed the rifle into a "precision" 10/22.

And, SCG, there is a few of well known "gentlemen" on here who will call everyone who is not in line with their biased opinions a "troll" or worse, lol

There is a deal online on the latest 10/22 plastic bombers. Good value. Get it before it's gone! We've seen what it can do accuracy wise with a little work, lol.

I must have the only good 10/22 in Canada. It’s a 1967 canadian centennial. Has digested god knows how many bricks of whatever ammo is cheap without a hiccup I can remember. Never cleaned it either, just a shot of G96 in the action a couple times a year. Plenty accurate for chicken headshots and plinking. Not sure what more you could expect out of something at this price point.

I had a dream of getting a norinco m14 when they came out , but so glad I didn't. Tried a friends' instead. Nothing wrong, but way to heavy for anything but plinking, and at around 1$/shot, too expensive for that.
Speaking of overrated, I'll throw the chiappa little badger (unsafe hammer), and Remington 788 onto the pile. Guns you dream about because of magazine hype, but are left at the LGS counter instead.

You talk a lot but don't offer any pics or alternatives ...... Why not post pics of your plinker 22 with bulk ammo and a red dot at 25yds then and show us how it's done?

;)I must've lucked out as well!! No complaints with mine either, and going by the posts of a few others here, :) there's a few more out there besides ours.

To jump in here , your mention made of an alternative:) brought to mind an alternative I have in the safe. My 10/22 is a great plinker and I have no intention of parting with it. However, for some of a more target quality level of shooting and/or with;) pre season off hand practice in mind, I have a BSA Martini custom.

Shot 400 plus gophers Saturday. A semi automatic offers no advantage to a good bolt gun in the real world. And I control when the chamber is loaded.

I think for some of us it's more than price, for me a rifle has to look good, feel good, function properly, and be accurate and reliable.

Xactly ,
I say it's like taking your great looking girl friend (wife) to the dance .
Sure she does the same as your other girl friends just looks
better doing it .
