My 22 shoots 1/2" groups at 50 yards/meters all day! Really? Prove it!

Hey,

Finally a reasonably nice day (little wind anyway) so I ended up doing some ammo testing with my wife's Tikka. Someone was complaining upthread about the lack of Tikkas, so here is one.

Rifle: Tikka T1X MTR in a Cadex Strike Nuke EVO
Scope: Athlon Midas Tac HD 5-25×56
Rest: MDT GRND-Pod, Flatline Ops Body Bag
Ammo: RWS Special Match

Distance: 50 Meters

Group 1: 0.707-0.22= 0.487"
Group 2: 0.471-0.22= 0.251"
Group 3: 0.619-0.22= 0.399"
Group 4: 0.597-0.22= 0.377"
Group 5: 0.641-0.22= 0.421"

Average: 0.387"

I had 2 other passing targets as well, one with Eley Semi-Auto Precision Bench Rest and one with Lapua Biathlon Xtreme. Attached at the end. I just picked the best of the 3 and the Eley barely passed anyway.

Grab your knife, slice the target in a few strips, and you have a qualified group! Kidding aside, very nice shooting nelsonm64! You surely can easily shoot another qualified target.

I hang many strips of targets, so I can shoot the next one if a bad group happens..... LOL like this.

I got a 54.30 during the Victoria Day sale at Nordic. I haven't shot it much yet but it seems to be getting better results each time out. After today, I will be using it at 100 yards.

The following results from today were shot at 57 yards.

The target with the best average had groups of .237", .327", .338", .241", and .341". Average group = .297".
The other targets shown averaged .303", .319", and .336".

The rifle has a Sightron SIII 45X scope.

That is nice shooting, and a great looking set up.

Would you review that scope for the rest of us?

Nice shooting Glen. I added you to the successful list.

My another 1/2" entry.
The difference with the previous one is that I switched back to the factory MTR barrel and put a tuner on it, and another big one is that I shot with a cheap Norma Tac-22 ammo!

Here is a submission for my successful attempt
