My 22 shoots 1/2" groups at 50 yards/meters all day! Really? Prove it!

super7, the vernier reads 0.368".

0.368"-0.22"=0.148"

Basically, subtracting 1 bullet diameter from the outside to outside measurement gives you a center to center.

yea, but the calipers show .685! -.224 is not .147

Each revolution of the dial is .100" or 10ths of an inch and as indicated by the course reading on the scale it is .300" the dial then indicates 1000th (0.001") of an inch, the dial indicates approximately 0.068", therefore the reading is .368"

I use digital calipers, measure a solo hole, zero the calipers, then measure the outside to outside. Since it is zeroed with one bullet diameter off, it gives you centre to centre with no math.

Nice weather last Wednesday, 10 degrees with 10-20KM wind.
I took my another NS522 which action is glued due to glass bedding failure :(, which actually can shoot quiet well but always one or two flyers, to my range (indoor bench, outdoor target) , and I was surprised that I could get a target like this, so it seems that glued action is not a problem as to the accuracy :).
Rifle: NS522 (glued action) in 22lr;
Scope: Bushnell Elite 6500 4.5-30X50;
Ammo: RWS Target Rifle;
Distance: 50M
Groups:
1. 0.319"
2. 0.374"
3. 0.240"
4. 0.210"
5. 0.260"
Best: 0.210"
Average: 0.281"

Good shooting. Looks like you have a couple of good shooting guns. I added you to the original post.
Thanks, Underthegun.
I have another NS522 succeeded in this challenge, and this one is the same make but with "glued action", so would you like to add "glued action" to avoid confusing?

Just got some different kinds of target ammos, so I took my Anschutz 1441/42 to the range (indoor bench, outdoor target) , the rifle had only one locking screw and was shooting under 1 inch at 50 meters, I suspected that it is due to one locking screw. So I had it installed another locking screw by a gunsmith and added pillars to it by myself, did not bother to do glass bedding.
Though the result is not very good, but qualifies 1 MOA at 50 meters. Thinking of glass bedding it.
Rifle: Anschutz 1441/42 in 22lr;
Scope: Bushnell Elite 6500 4.5-30X50;
Ammo: Lapua Center-X
Distance: 50M
Groups:
1. 0.404"
2. 0.381"
3. 0.4975"
4. 0.490"
5. 0.365"
Best: 0.365"
Average: 0.4275"

Excellent conditions early this morning, NO WIND :dancingbanana: I can't enter these as there are too many groups, I couldn't stop shooting under these perfect conditions. Largest group was .261" and the smallest was .057" its in the bottom row. All groups are 5 shots, ammo used was CentreX. Rifle is a custom 2500X with a Leupold Competion 45X, one piece rest used.

Wow, amazing!

The definition of "one ragged hole"...

Any chance you posting a pic of the rifle? That is some action, be curious to see how the rest looks!
