My 22 shoots 1/2" groups at 50 yards/meters all day! Really? Prove it!

Also has to be a pic with caliper showing the measurement of the smallest group.

A digital caliper is real easy to pull the wool over the eyes. I use calipers almost every day.Think about it if you had a digital caliper and the largest group was large by lets say .043" that puts you out of the game But if you zeroed the caliper when completely closed and then open it up to .043" and zeroed it again from there the group would magically measure .043" smaller than it really is.That in itself would be hard to dispute in a picture on the net.
Much safer to measure with a dial caliper it takes a better cheat than a zero on a digital caliper. :) Just sayin.

1/2 @ 50

Evo Scout CZ 452 Leopold 3x9 efr Leopold rings .750" dots.
Ammo SK magazine July/18/16 50 yds.

Was acceptable after it settled down. average .278" Was a good 9:30 start @ the range. When I do my part it is ok. All my guns shoot better than me.:)

Another day this week I am going to shoot my 455 22lr evolution It shoots well also.

Didn't include sighters they don't mean much you have to know when yourself is ready. Put a dozen down range and then shot the attached target.

.278" average
It's more work doing this post that it was shooting it.Hope enough info is included here to understand results. :)

forgot group sizes in post .525" .474" .563" .532" .410" corrected using bullet size .303" .252" .341" .310" .188" average .278"

Impressive ,that shoots better than most Anschutz,s.
Good job!

"Thanks" it is a proven shooter. It is my go to when just heading out to the range for some stress relief fun.I have dispatched many crows with that tack driver. Let my 15 year old grandson shoot it a few weeks ago and he had a smile a mile wide after he shot 50 rounds through it. I have owned it for some time since new it is a 2012.It shot good from the beginning.Have played with it lots you know the routine only one change at a time and see the results.Takes some time but after you figure it out what it needs and likes it will produce great results. I would have to spend upwards of $1000+ to get a new gun.Even an entry level Annie would not be cheap and may not shoot much better. Then I would be starting the learning curve all over.I have a couple of 455's that shoot good and have started the tweaking program one thing at a time but that is what fun is all about.I will shoot one this week if it isn't to hot outside.

I shot better today.:d

Here are six five shot groups at 60 meters, shot on range #5 at Sharon Gun Club today.

Group sizes .402, .334, .203, .387, .295, .380

The smallest group measures .203. Average of six groups is .3335.

The rifle is my Anschutz MPR with a Bushnell Elite 4200 8 x 32 x 40mm scope.

Ammunition is SK Std +

Shot from a Caldwell BR rest using Protektor front & rear bags.

Tomorrow I will try to do the same with one of my modified 10/22s.

Ronnie, you are right, I was indeed smiling. Now I have to try it with different rifles. I have five rim fires that should be up to it however the nut behind the trigger has to do it's part. :)

I tried my tricked out 10/22 today. I got close but not quite good enough. I have myself to blame as I started with my Shultz & Larsen shooting with aperture sights at 60m & I think I may have tired my eyes somewhat. My 72 year old eyes are not what they once were. That said I shouldn't complain as overall I think I am in fairly good shape.

Anschutz 64 MS R at 58 yards (that's what the 50 yard range measures at my club), using SK Standard Plus.

The target was shot left to right.

0.673 - 0.22 = 0.453
0.715 - 0.22 = 0.495
0.648 - 0.22 = 0.428
0.678 - 0.22 = 0.458
0.519 - 0.22 = 0.299
Average: 0.426

The scope is a Sightron SIII 10-50 (at about 30X).

hi Guys,
Finally had some time to get to the range two weeks ago, and finally now to post this thread. I shot my Rem 40-X for the 5 target test groups. The rifle is a 1960's vintage w. Leupold 40X Comp model scope. Fired at 50yds, w. 17C temp., light wind, and overcast skies. Used Lapua Center-X ammo, and a Sinclair front and Protector rear sandbag. Could have used the sighter if the first shot was not off! lol. Will use only 5 bull target to qualify next time
Fired: 0.378, 0.390, 0.264, 0.202, and 0.314 c/c measures. Average is 0.309" Smallest is 0.202" c/c. Will see if I can improve at next test.

Just squeaked in. I wasn't really intending to shoot the challenge yesterday, but had shot a couple sequential groups that were looking pretty good, so thought I would go for it :)

Was shooting my CZ452 Varmint and ELEY/Remington Target, which seem to group fairly well in my gun. Scope is a Leupold Vari-X III 2.5-8 X 36. Rings are CZ. Bipod and rear bag are nothing fancy. No mods to the rifle at all. I noticed after I wrote the numbers on the target that my math was off by .002" for the first group; corrected here.
Group sizes at 50 yards were:
.688 - .22 = .468
.612 - .22 = .392
.594 - .22 = .374
.714 - .22 = .494
.670 - .22 = .450

Avg = .436"

Nice going, Major.
I like the CZ452 Varmint. I had one, but sold it. Might have to get a replacement. Lol. I tried Lapua SK Mag in it and it shot well; took a couple club sporter class shoots w it.
