My 22 shoots 1/2" groups at 50 yards/meters all day! Really? Prove it!

unoffical entry, since I didn't have any callipers etc. I just happened to snap this pic of my target the other day.

Savage Mark II FV-SR

50 meters, CCI standard ammo. Bipod from brench rest, no brake/compensator, no stock modifications. Day 2 shooting with this particular rifle, sighting it in with a BSA sweet 22 scope, SWFA medium rings.

Squares are 1 inch. Bottom middle target group looks like .5 inch or thereabouts.

So close. Damn good shooting, but that cold bore shot did you in. I suggest anyone trying this to put up a second target for cold bore/fouling shots.

I went to OnTargetShooting dot com and downloaded the program. I paid the guy cause I like the program but apparently there is a way to run it without registering.

WOW!!! Now that's some nice shooting. I will add you to the original post. You also have the new small average once you divide your average by 2. When I figured your average I also included you 6th group because it was on the target.

I don't have a 22LR that will shoot like this, but Im pretty confident my Marlin XT22mvsr will. I haven't tried 5 shot groups but my 3 shot groups are one hole. anybody mind if I try this with my 22mag?

That is one sweet looking .22 ! ! ! Holy one holer ! ! !

Went out again with 40x with some new ammo was very pleased to say the least.

My friend and shooting buddy (Liberty) on Sat tried his new Used 54 with a Hart barrel his grande agg was .304 very impressive shooting very middle of the road ammunition
Eley target at 6.95 a box. he is going to post his results soon.
Here is results of shooting last night with my 40x and some Midas+
I got my brother to measure groups with his benchrest scoring calipers. these have been used to measure groups when benchrest was big in Ottawa in 70s & 80s
I had wind flags and it took over 1 hr to shoot these groups.

Shot at 50 yards at Stittsville shooting range off benches.

Rifle rem 40x 1956 vintage all original except for stock and bedding and jewel trigger 2oz
Scope 24x Bausch & Lomb old model.
Ammo Midas +
Group sizes.
.180
.095
.171
.208
.301

Average .191
smallest .095

here is photo with benchrest calipers used

Dave give that Suhl of yours a bath and treat it to some Lapua 420161 X-Act box of 100 Hirsh has some. and lets see lots of groups .125 and smaller, really like seeing that sub .100 of yours

Anschutz 1813. Eley Match ammo at 1067 fps.
Almost dead still. 50 yards.
Weaver T36.
What I was seeing as a flyer spoiling a group were actually better than .5
This was being done while monkeying with the tuner.
My first five shot group had 4 groups in the .25 - .28 range and the last group had 4 in .09 and then a last shot flyer (which looked like history) actually measured .5 (c-c)
When I saw that eagleye had a .076, I measured even more carefully and he beat me. Close but no cigar!

im coming for you guys!
finally dialed in, this is with Blazer ammo, so now i just need to get my hands on somthing a little higher end and im gonna join the elite group!

2 groups of 5, outdoors, some wind.... 1 flyer!
