I took 4 sheet of russian birch plywood, 1/2 inch thick, and I had them glued up together to form a sandwich of 2 inch thick. They used outdoor glue. Then I just cut up whatever size I need from the piece.

I sprayed 3 coats of lacquer on it today, and I re-assembled the gun. Needless to say, it looks way better with that stock.

Unfortunately my range is closed for the winter, but I,ll try to find a place to shoot a bit. This winter I'll get my reloading componenents, and I'll be ready when the range re-opens.

The only thing I'll get is a cheek piece with a small bag to store ammo, it will raise my face a bit and I'll be able to store a couple of rounds if I go hunting with it.

Is bedding gonna be an issue with the recoil lug being in the stock? I have an axis that i've been wanting to play with but having that recoil lug in the stock has put me off and so far i've left it as is.

If yo dont mind me asking, where do you get that plywood from? Is it from a specialty shop or from somewhere like kent or Home depot? The reason I ask is it looks like they used thinner veneers than most plywoods I have handled.

I got it from work, but it is probably available at home centers. Ask for Russian Birch plywood. There is arout 10 or 11 layer for 1/2 inch. of panel.
