my CZ SP-01 Shadow broke today :(

its a sad day.....

so im at the range today with my Shadow as usual and suddenly the slide looked like it didnt cycle properly. i thought it was a squib so i decided to check the bore and noticed i couldnt rack the slide like normal so i decided to do a quick field strip and thats when i noticed that my slide lock is broken. has anyone ever had this happen to them?

i really hope that i dont have to send in the entire pistol just for warranty on this little part.

Slide locks are the faliure point on the cz. As a competitor i carried spares.
Go buy a new one and truck on!

I believe that is fairly common with the CZ75 based pistols. Most competitors carry a spare just in case.

it is a common issue most competitors keep a spare one of these and the trigger spring. Parts are inexpensive you can get from crafm or bit and pieces.

Yep, I have 4 extra slide stops and and extra extractor for my CZ TS. Common failure, but it hasn't happened yet to me.

I use 2. I have one that I use for practice and one the I only use for competitions. Once the practice one breaks I will buy another and use the newest one for comps again.

The Shadow slidestops are a different design in the paddle area, but pretty much any 75 slidestop will fit. I run Rami slidestops in my Shadows.
It is also not an "issue" it's part of the design that they will break before a barrel link will.
Carry spares, and invest in some shockbuffs, they also reduce the breakages.

People are being raped at $60 a part.
And, actually CZ has addressed this with the new Shadow 2. As explained to me by the lead engineer, better concentricity of the slide stop hole results in less breakage, along with some tuning of the holes edges. It will still break, as it is a wear part, but will last longer.

Not so much, but I've seen the barrel link break on 1911's too during a match.
That's an easy fix, but a barrel link breaking on a CZ requires a new barrel.

1911s can break slide stops, too. That said, it is much less common than with CZs.
