Hi SGTM82
First off it not your fault you did not know or notice the problem with the rifling when you first bought the rifle , Really who would ever think that Remington would make a barrel for a 22 that has bad / imperfect rifling in this day and age ... It's very hard to believe that their computer controlled equipment and safe guards and Quality control would let this barrel leave the plant floor let alone get installed on a receiver and shipped out for sale to the general public .
Just think maybe should have kept it and sold it to a collector or Remington and with the big money buy a 597 HB and goodies to add on . I am sure this is one in a million , or should I say I hope it was .
The bigger picture is that we are seeing a lot more complaints about many different American gun companies making and selling poor quality ( Fit and Finish and parts ) in low and high priced fire arms , Very sad .
I hope Remington does the right thing and take Very good care of you and make you Very Happy !
As a side thought , Norinco , all steel 22 lr rifles don't seem to bad after all , they are low priced , all steel and you know in advance they are a little rough around the edges .
All the best !!
