My only regret with SKSs is that I didn't buy more when I bought some a few yeara ago.
Mechanically they are in better shape than the Russian ones. The stock can easily be refinished.
I'm can't necessarily agree. But I will say the SKS was one of the best built products to ever come out of China. Having the Russian tooling was a big part of that.
Just noticed on the EE that there is an SKS D new in the box for $1600. Supply and demand Y"all

I can see you getting $500-600 easily to somebody that appreciates the platform and wants to use it for sporting purposes. It's hard to sell "custom", but they eventually do go to a good home. Why not just keep it?

That's why I love buying those tricked out SKSs sometimes as long as people have the original parts to go with it. If not, it is worth less. Putting it into perspective, no more than $600 as the previous poster mentioned.

Yeah, I bought this one poorly bubba'd and fixed it up years ago. id make a profit on it, put it that way.
