My My, how the tide has turned for the SKS...

Just thinking what those stocks are going for. Not bubba'd enough for me though. Throw in the original stock, 2 more mags and a scope rail and then we are talking, lol. Just bought a comparable one with the goodies for that.

.

Well thankfully im not trying to sell it to you lol.
Im not even trying to sell it at all. But i have considered offering to trade it for other things i want... Just wanted to have a rough idea of its value.

Anyone have any ideas what my sks might be worth now? Its a 1950 russian, spring loaded firing pin, hical rear peep sight, timbersmith stock, has 2 factory mags and one tapco, functions flawlessly with all 3. Bayo lug removed and properly blued over, and has a russian snipers badge in the stock. Also has probably the nicest trigger of any sks ive ever shot.

I am more interested for the price of the house rather than the sks. The location look pure Heaven on earth.

СНАЙПЕР? An SKS that brags.

Gents; FYI that Fishing World in Hamilton got a few very decent standard grade SKS's in. They are getting harder to find these days, and the staff there are excellent to deal with.

Not all sks rifles are created equal. Some shoot 2.5moa others shoot 6moa haha. Ive got mine out to 400m on what was probably a 24" gong. Id love to try my luck further someday on a full size torso plate i have.

The independent fact checkers will be all over that video.

I think got examples of both great and stereotypical shooting SKS’s. However, they all always work, and they all do the job they were designed for. I disagree with the video’s description of this gun as a dmr rifle for shots up to 600m. I doubt the soviets imagined much real world work past 200m.

This is mostly due to receiver not tight to the stock on the front where the gas tube sits. Can easily be corrected by doing some bedding.

For sure! Its definitely a condition thing. Some models suffer from a mangled barrel crown, shot out rifling which doesnt help either. We've all heard the rumors too that non chrome lined models shoot more accurately.

I want to see a video on the svt 40 he has that looks like an svd its cool as hell

The SKS Dragunov is alive and well. Figured id make some final improvements to it before i made a completion vid of it. I most certainly plan to shoot the 2021 Cabin Fever Challenge with it.

The SVT 40 Dragunov is not so well. I screwed up with it many years ago and havent been bothered to fix it it yet. Its mock reciever needs re welded in some spots, i need to make 2 new stock pins and check the headpace. I plan to do something with it the year. It hasnt been very high on the priority list cus despite it looking fairly nice, it shoots like a sloppy example of an SVT 40. Nice 6" vertical strung groups at only 100m.

It's a 1950 that's been irreversably sporterized and is pre-chromed barrel. I'd say it's worth approximately the value of the stock and magazine assembly (parts) + at most $200.

Lol ok. A semi auto centerfire that looks as ###y and reliable as that is worth $200 at most? I dont believe that but thanks for your opinion.

Also, who says i cant re-weld the bayonet lug back on and blue it so you cant even tell it was ever cut off? Irreversible lol....magine.
Anyways, I think what is driving the value isnt so much people looking for numbers matching collector grade guns, and more so the fact that its a semi auto, non restricted centerfire in the <$500 range.
