If you push on the front of the scope, how far can you deflect it? Looking at mine yesterday is was possible to move the mounting rail by pushing on it. I'd be concerned that with the extra weight out in front of the rail it might be pretty "whippy".

Already got her packed in the range bag but the deflection is minimal and gets back in place. Shouldn't move from regular recoil. I will experiment once I zero her in tonight by pushing her down a couple of times and reshooting the target but I don't expect for the zero to shift, especially since most of the mount is clamped above the Chinese rail. It looks like it was designed with some flex in mind. If I'm wrong, I'm taking down the rail and going with peep on Saturday. Got my SKS sight tool packed in the range bag for that eventuality
Ok range test = fail. Can't hold zero. Either gotta use a shorty or a dot, mounted as far back as you can comfortably look. The previous setup with rings was fine, held 0 on 3 range sessions, but the way pictured, its mounted too far forward and the naysayers were absolutely correct. My SKS sight adjustment tool is a little too narrow to fit, so temporarily, I just have to do Kentucky windage with the irons until I dot it.
Finally mounted what will be the sight solution for the foreseeable future.. Will range-test on Wednesday, but don't expect any issues. Made sure to add a dab of blue loctite on all the rail mounting screws.
