Interesting...I need to take mine apart later tonight...but I think there's a pretty neat difference there to note.

Greetings Clobber,
Heres what I have done in the way of removing my gas piston retainer (Regulator), gas piston and gas piston spring. Yes you depress the gas regulator and it does not matter on mine go all the way left or right but before you can remove the piston and spring and if a rail or scope is mounted other than the little throw lever on the Chinese scope which is pressed tightly against the carrying handle when cammed in place, you can remove the take down pin that holds the pistol grip trigger assembly and carrying handle then MOVE (slide) the carrying handle upper, Back a Half Inch to clear the gas regulator for removal either left or right that way it will slide along the underside of a rail. Then you have the clearance to rotate the regulator (retainer) all the way Left or right and pull it out.
The piston was filthy and need a Appropriate chop stick (Cleaning rod) pressed into the chamber to free it up as there was a lot of carbon(no shaking here) and out she came. I'm glad you asked as I did not want to have to re-zero my optics with each cleaning. I cleaned the piston dropped in the spring the piston and returned the regulator then slid the carrying handle forward and wala. Done like dinner. i suppose you want a picture?? This is actually good as I had no manual with mine. I hope this helps others like you said Clobber.
Hi Jack,
I am going to reload for T97. My question is: Can I still reload the ejected shell? ( You mentioned there is a dent on the middle of the shell)
Here's what it did to my brassA reloading guy would have to advise about if they look reloadable or not as I only shoot factory right now...
