My PC9 Arrived!!

I've never touched the barrel tension nut once in about 2000 rds. I've taken down the rifle several times and never had issues with tension or zeroing. I'd say pretend it doesn't exist and just shoot the rifle and if it ever got a wiggle then play with it

Check out irunguns they have pretty good deals on mags i picked up a few pmags and amend2 mags as well for a good price.

+1 to this. iRunguns has some good mags, including 17 and 33 round Glock mags (pinned to 10 of course). I have found otherwise their Pmag selection is good and pricing is good (even if you take into account the fees and shipping and such). First time I ordered from them, I ordered from the US site so mags took longer but I got stuff that is sold out everywhere else I have seen. Been happy to order other stuff from them - if it's from the Canadian site, shipping is very quick and averaging it out after, price is still good value.

Hope you enjoy your new rifle. Mine has been good. I use the Glock mags and the pmags. Must be a lot of single ruger mags sitting around in drawers somewhere

So I finally got to have a look at it today. First impression; this thing is built like a tank. It's got some heft to it and I can see why some people have said that they wouldn't want to hump it around the woods all day. It is well put together and the fit and finish seems to be very good. I picked up some Pmags for it today so I will swap out the magwell when I get a chance (although the all metal Ruger mag that comes with it seems very good quality).

The mag release is quite recessed. I'll take it to the range a couple of times to practice with but if it bugs me I will swap it out for the Mcarbo mag release. Also the fore end feels quite angular so if I find that uncomfortable I'll invest in some Mlok rail covers.

Apart from these very minor points I am extremely happy with it. It looks great, it feels very well made and I can't wait to shoot it.

What carbine version did you get ?

I know you said you don't want a lot of upgrades, but I strongly encourage you consider an upgraded extractor and bolt pins. The OEM ones are MIM and fail frequently. The MCARBO ones are not expensive, are 100% reliable and last forever

Just run it till it fails. Keep spare parts on hand. I put 1600 rounds through a ruger pc and never had any issues. Brass, aluminum, steel, it eats them all.

Enjoy your PC9. My wife bought me one for Christmas. Changed to Glock mag housing and use three P-Mags and one Glock. Invested in an Uplula mag loader, which works very nicely. Mine rests in a Ruger take-down bag. Fits okay, along with mags and a spare box of 9mm. I have only fired reloaded rounds, LEE 124 cast WW. Neat little rifle. Mine is standard model, bone stock.

Edit: Read the manual, making sure you don't have it set too tight. Too loose only requires that you take it down and tighten just a WEE tiny bit.

I have about 500 rounds through mine and ordered all the upgrade parts. I was very surprised in the amount of wear on the pins and the extractor.

So I have to say, this has become my favourite gun. I did get some Pmags for it although I tried Irunguns but for some reason the payment wouldn't go through on their site so I ended up going and picking some up from Al Flaherty's.

With a Vortex Crossfire on it I can easily hit a six inch gong at 100 yards which is more than enough out of a gun like this for me. I will probably pick up the stronger bolt pins and extractor although I have 300 - 400 rounds through it now and had zero issues. It's just one of those guns that never fails to put a smile on my face. A couple of my shooting buddies have had a go and they love it too.

Did you try the irunguns.ca site or irunguns.com?

I found my first buying experience on irunguns.com confusing and had some payment problems.

I found ordering on irunguns.ca much easier - those Glock 17 mags that are 10/17 and 10/33 are on the Canadian site.

I'm pretty sure it was the irunguns.ca site. They were great with activating my account and responding to emails but when the payment wouldn't go through (and I tried quite a few times) I knew I was planning to go to Al's the next day to pick up some targets so I got some while I was there.

Have you managed to take yours out much?

what's with the shipping I put 7 mags in my cart and they wanted $48.00 to ship which is way to much

What kind of deals have you found on the 10/17's? The first couple I bought were on sale for $20/each but now most places are listing them at $30.

Think I'll go ahead and get these then. I've got a few hundred shots on mine, not a single malfunction, all good so far but if I can get ahead of problems that would be good.
