My rifle shoots 1/2" groups @100 yards all day! Really? Prove it.

s and giggles, Kevin can you shoot this challenge with that new .50 you picked up?? The diameter of each round is about the goal of this challenge...
5 shot group would be $25.00 each. Doubt this rifle could make it to begin with, let alone with mid-grade PMC ammo, but heck, we will see come Saturday I guess. I will be happy if it holds 1 to 1.5MOA to be honest with this ammo... that would be plenty accurate for long range shooting on a 2' steel gong out past 1KM.
Seems fair... One shot per target...
Heck, let's modify the rules to make it closest to the 1/2" group at 100 meters wins.

Better make that target the engine block of a truck! I don't think there would be much left of the butts at most ranges after that barrage.
On a side note, I would love to see what a .50 does to an engine block.

I do have an average PGWDTi Coyote however. This rifle was not made for me I randomly picked it off of the shelf. Mine was made with a run of several hundred others and yes it does have a Krieger barrel.

I froze my arse off to be honest and rushed these but it what it is.
My range on the farm is 110 m so but farther than 100 yards again it is what it is. Regardless
Tried the 222 for 5 groups and seriously that's all I could handle With only what i have on the property to shoot Off. But this is real life not a br shoot.
-13 with a wc of -21 and a cross north wind of 16 mph or 30 km.
I would never attest to the fact that I am a perfect shooter and today proved it.
The gun is far more capable than I and I struggled with the conditions.
Started with a cold clean bore that started to settle in the 2nd group for those that can appreciate that.
Results as posted.
This gun is capable of this and will do this in 20 degree temps no wind and my Br Sinclair on a concrete br table
But today Is one of this honest givin days that it won't.Or I can't lol going to do it again under optimal conditions as that's fair too. And compare.

I went out today as well and tried it. I thought 30 rounds would be enough. 5 for fouling and maybe a few sighters. I fired 4 foulers and then decided to go for the group run. After the first 3 shots I wwas out of it.
Put another target up. Fired a few more sighters then went to run the record targets. I had enough to shoot 4 targets then had to go to my other box with my other go to load. I did not want to use these loads as I am getting low on the bullets and the gun shop does not have any more. Regardless, those loads are proven loads and it let me down on my last target.
Grp1: .460
Grp2: .295
Grp3: .442
Grp4: .411
Grp5: .831 different load
1st 4 grps shot with 26.4gr Benchmark and a 40gr V-max.
The last grp shot with 26.4grs of a powder blend and a 40gr Nosler Varmageddon.
Rifle is a Rem 700 chambered and trued by Guntech in .223. Bolt is a PTG. Barrel is a used Hart that I bought from a buddy. Round count was unknown. Previous chambering was 22-250Imp. According to the fellow who borescoped it prior to my buying it advised it looked like it had not been shot a lot.
Conditions today: light snow falling, wind approx 10kph from the east(head wind), temp -13.
Will get a picture of the target up when I get back from registering my daughter for Driver Ed.
I will try and get loaded and go out again tommorrow. The kicker with the load I took is that I have not shot that load since last spring. I also changed the way I find my seating depth so it was a lot of guess work. I think I hit the load with the Benchmark and V-Max's pretty close. I was trying to use the falling snow to read the wind. I worked not bad.
I do not have the rifle setup picture today but I will get one the next time out.

I had lots of ammo but sure was not staying out to shoot it. I only fired 25.

Taken from load development a long time ago. Was shot with my stock Savage 12 VLP in .223. Action is bedded.

Well I tried and I failed. Barely. DAMN FLIER!!! My average was .528" and my smallest .393". One flier ruined the whole thing for me. It was the 3rd shot on the 4th target. I only brought 25 rounds with me so I finished the target.
