Ok, batteries charged, photos taken. Here is the story: I went out to Mission Rod and Gun this morning to try - now Mission is billed as 300m but I don't think the regular non-match target stands are quite there so I always say it is 300 yards and that's what my calculations use - weather was sunny but there was some wind that I felt was a bit tricky.
First off I used my PGW Coyote topped off with a S+B 12-50x56 1/4 MOA P4F and propelling a 155.5 Berger over 45.8 Varget with Norma brass and FGMM primers. While a couple of groups were under half MOA the remainder averaged about .7 MOA so back to the drawing board.
Next up was the rifle I used in the "under 1/2" at 100 Yards" game - Barnard with Kreiger barrel glassed with a S+B 12-50x56 with 1/8th MOA P4F - but with different ammo. For the 100 yard competition I used the Berger 105 VLD's but I feel that the 108's perform better overall so that's what I used today: 108g Berger BT over 30.2 Varget housed in Lapua brass and CCI primers. The results are as follows:
EDIT: Numbers in Post redone following proper math - original numbers in pics were rough arithmetic with the simple inches divided by three calculation - proper math brings the size in MOA down which is, of course, even better
Target 1 1.101" (0.351 MOA)
Target 2 1.120" (0.357 MOA)
Target 3 1.404" (0.447 MOA)
Target 4 1.462" (0.465 MOA)
Target 5 0.799" (0.254 MOA) Saving the best for last
For those interested in mean averages, I calculate this to be : 0.374 MOA

UTG - This was really hard and I appreciate you organising these games. I for one feel that this improves my shooting more than regular practice sessions as in introduces a type of ( good ) stress similar to what one can expect at a match.
Cheers,
Bob.
