My Schultz & Larsen M69 -- UPDATED with an easy reference list of TRADEEX rifles

Thanks to Hitzy, I picked up a CG63 with weaver bases and bent bolt handle from TradeEx.

Muzzle without iron sight

Schultz & Larsen barrel

Added wide forend with accessory rail, seems by an approved gunsmith

Solid and beautiful trigger guard

Action nicely glass bedded

Cocked on bolt

Interesting details

Topped with a Tasco Varmint 8-32X40 scope

100 yard target results, five 5-shot groups fired quite rapidly, a lot of room to improve

For your reference, the central right group was the first 100 yard group after 2 shots 50 yard sight in.
And the central left group was the last 100 yard group after I found the barrel was very hot after 20 consecutive shots and let it cool down a little bit.

Any one has any idea about the barrel cooling down between shots?

Those are very accurate rifles even with well-used barrels. These are 100m and 300m test targets right after I finished modifying mine CG63 shown earlier.

I just got my M52 back from a blast and blue (outside of barrel was rusted bad but only minor pitting, bore is excellent)....try and get some pics this weekend. I wanted one of the earliest examples with the original Garand type sights. Plus it was a 1917 Kornbusch receiver which is neat in it's own right. Nice mix of WWI/WWII German '98 parts, along with Danish ingenuity....the rear sight design is rather neat.

Nice, get a chance to shoot it yet?

This weekend I'll get her out, just finished up cleaning the bore and loading some ammo today.
The bore was quite clean and shiny all the way to about the last 8" before the muzzle. Just a bunch of caked on carbon, I used some old Automatenfett grease, warmed the barrel up and brushed it in with a nylon brush. Let it sit for a couple days then used a one size up (270cal) bronze brush to scrub. The stuff that came out was disgusting lol. Took a few applications but it's nice now.
Loaded up some fast 120bthp tonight for it....should be fun. Literally just like looking down Garand sights, weird feeling really lol.

Funnest gun I've shot in a looong time. Great shooter.

I like your M52, and the durable refinishing job.

I have my eye on another M52 with the original Garand style sights, but the "bolt does not cycle smoothly", so I would be taking a chance with a replacement bolt that I have from a M954 Mauser (refinished and colour case hardened of course, lol). It's a run-of-the-mill byf '44, but my M954 bolt is also Oberndorf-made, so at least it would be a factory match, and I like the way it looks. I await a more detailed assessment from Anthony before making a decision. I seem to be gravitating towards the old tried and true low-cost "shooters" again.

Just picked up another from tradeex, FN reciever, the blueing on the action and barrel are near perfect. Very nice stock à well. Will post some pics when I get back home from the bush. Hope this one shoots, as it is by far the prettiest of the ones I have!

The rifle has the adjustable trigger, target style stock, the front sight is pressed on but also has a dovetail in the pressed on piece, haven't seen one like it before. Very pleased
