Need a Modern non restricted semi auto rifle

The ACR. Do it. Although the guys at Milarm said they'll be offering 18.5" barrels from the factory near the end of the year.
I was in you shoes a couple weeks ago. I picked up an XCR. I was interested in the ACR but they are hard to find, barrel does need to be changed for NR and there just wasn't a lot of reliable information out there to compel me to buy one.
So far I'm happy with the XCR. I know guys who have them who are happy with them. There are of course some bad XCR reviews out there but I figure that Wolverine the importer will ensure I stay happy if anything does go wrong.
The Tavor doesn't do it for me with the bullpup configuration. That, and a friend of mine had one and didn't really have great luck with it.
Another one to consider is the Swiss Arms but you can't use AR mags without a conversion.

The XCR is a good rifle but they do have a higher number of lemons than most others. There can be small, easy to fix issues with them. Wolverine is the importer and warranty center so if there is a problem I couldn't think of a better company to take it to. Once any issues are resolved the rifles are fantastic.

ACR comes with a 16 inch barrel making it restricted. If you rebarrel it with an 18.5+ inch barrel, it can be verified and reclassified as non-restricted. The factory will be producing non-restricted version, but as for right now the rebarrel is a custom job.
I can only talk for what i know, The Swiss is the best choice but buying second hand, always make me nervous, if you have the mean buy it new, the XCR-M is one rifle that just came above my expectations, i imagine the L will be the same, and my advice for the money accuracy and reliability and ease of cleaning, is the Benelli MR-1... This one is the sleeper of the bunch but i rank it with the bests, my own in 5000 rounds only let me down one time on a bad primer so there you go... JP.
I think that's a "large" question. Early on guys were having to put locktite on some parts. Mine appears to have locktite from the factory on at least the ejector. The bolt hold open pin dealy is reported by a couple of guys as failing. So far so good with mine but the gun is still very new.
I guess at the end of the day the XCR is not such a mass produced rifle or a commercially adapted battle rifle like the Swiss Arms.
My XCR-L .223 in black was about $2520 after AB tax. I think it was $2399 before tax. Mine had a bad barrel from the factory. It was one of the ones that had to have the brake pinned for export and whoever drilled the pin hole drilled it right into the bore and seated the pin so deep I couldn't even push a .22 cal jag through it. Wolverine had 2 barrels in their inventory like this too. Replacement barrel was pinned but whoever installed the brake must not have been thinking, or just plain lazy because the crush washer was not crushed so it came loose after about 200 rds. The pin stopped it from rotating but it was wobbly on the threads. I replaced it with a YHM Phantom and new crush washer that I actually crushed. The only other issue Ive had is the typical cratered primers caused by too heavy of a firing pin spring and too light of a hammer spring. One guy on the XCR forum reported cutting a few coils off the FP spring and replacing the hammer spring with one from an AR IIRC and that fixed the issue.
