Need advice on red-dot sight.

I just ordered one with the mount for my Limited CUstom...STS seems to be a safe bet. Plus is comes in cool desert tan!

I have a line on a SlideRide with a Bobby Carver mount for $250. The SlideRide is new, the mount is lightly used. Here's the mount:

What do you think of this combo?

Rob

Not sure if you shoot matches in Peterborough...or see the Peterborough gang...but if you do you should speak to Larry...he shot Open for a few years with a souped up Glock...did pretty well with it.

Rob, this is just an opinion- free at that so you will be sure to get your money's worth- it sounds like you are aware that you are not going to be dominating the open class with a Glock, CZ or any other DA+SA pistol, so what does it matter what you run? If you can see the dot reliably and it feels OK otherwise, just do it. IPSC tends to drive technology towards the extreme; there's plenty of room to just shoot until you know your equipment is slowing down your progress. Your shooting buddies will help with that too.

Is it illegal for a private individual in the US to sell a red dot sight to someone in Canada?

Rob
Yes, They are ITAR controlled. Just like Firearms and Ammunition. There's a thousand threads on here discussing US & Canadian law and exporting controlled goods from the USA if you want more info.

Hi Iain,

You're spot on. Basically, what I think I've determined is that I want a slide-mounted red dot, that's at least 7MOA. I'm reluctant to get the frame-mounted sight, because it would require a specialized holster, and modifications to the ejection port. That means, given the above concerns plus budgetary concerns, that the C-More STS is probably my only choice.
