Can you try a few before you buy?
yeah , i know the game, i am a sellsman myself but i am an onest one!
i fear that he has issues againts plastic pistols (the way he was speaking about thems!)
wanna taco, was that tx and shipping included??? if so, please tell me where.
and ho yeah, they have glock17 and sw m&p's in stock.
update.....
i spent over 2 hours at my local gunshop and i handled close to 15 handguns.
my mind is set on a s&w m&p but i also really liked the feel of the cz 75 sp1 (and that nice s&w 1911 but that's for later) so i will prob buy both.
thanks for your advises!!!

Salesman had his head up his *ss. I've owned lots of pistols, both polymer and steel framed, honestly there isn't 10 cents difference in reliability between a good quality steel frame and a good quality polymer. Buy the gun that feels best in your hand, and that points well, and that looks cool ('cause it's supposed to be fun).
Don't forget about the Springfield XD9. They're on special right now and I personally love the feel of them. Questar has a package right now for $599 including holster, mag carrier and two mags I think.

get a Beretta 92, or M&P if you want plastic...
Find a used H&K P7 PSP. The very best 9mm you can buy for that kind of money. Small, light, accurate, safe and will give very little muzzle flip. The very best there is IMO.
Apparently true, but I just can't get over the Fugly looks.
