I think you don't understand the restrictions placed upon US manufacturers.
It's to the point (since the 1980s) that American citizen weapons designers cannot work outside the country without approval. Technically the US Gov't owns the thoughts & ideas of American citizens.
The guns they design require US Gov't approval of the manufacturing country & all internal & export sales.
That's why Sullivan (and others) left the US in the 70's and had to return to the US in the 90's.
I didn't realize it was that bad. Such a contradiction of freedoms down south these days.
