NEW ITEM: Dominion Arms Socom 18

Canam are offline until the 12th.
Give them a call. 1-866-960-0045
It would be weird if they are not cl, as the factory would have to build a batch separately.

How much thread is there on the barrel end? .....1/2"? I don't think there are very many brakes threaded in .592 x 32.
I'd like to get a thread adapter to convert the .592 x 32 M1A threads to the more common 5/8 x 24. There is an adapter available from Brownells.

I'm trying to figure this out as well. While the threads are the same as a normal USGI castle nut, their proximity to the end of the barrel and (what looks like) an absence of spline cuts would seem to make it tricky to attach a regular USGI brake or flashhider - which is I guess why this is the SOCOM18! I'm going to take a look at an SEI 2000V M14 Direct Connect Vortex FH to see if it would fit. SEI carries a 2001V kit for the SOCOM16 that looks like it won't quite fit the SOCOM18... Lastly I've got an SEI 2002 adapter that takes old school M14 to 5/8x24, but I'm pretty sure that's going to need the spline cuts...

Even if I can't get any of this stuff mounted up, I'll probably wind up grabbing one!

Chrome lined - yes
Serial ## - 3 last digits from receiver - bolt, op-rod, piston, trigger group.

Can CanAmmo or someone else please confirm if these have chrome bores or not because from the few pics out there they look like they are not.

First target. 50m Indoor range (TSE), iron sights, no modifications to the gun, rapid fire supported from the bench. 3 groups 5 rounds each, reloads 150gr Hornady FMJ (some leftovers, nothing special).

Upper group - before sight adjustment
Middle group - roughly adjusted sights, muzzle device in "short" position (non-functional)
Lower group - same as middle, but muzzle device in functional position - note the shift of the group.

Thanks for the pics! I would hope/assume that sub 1moa at 50y would be possible though?
Still looking for a Canadian answer to the trigger question = if I can find a sub 5lb two stage solution available here I am all in.

Thanks for the post , just placed my order!!

Can am is in the lower mainland, and they don't have local pick up.
Only shipped.
Free shipping over $200 anyway.

I picked one up last night.

Not chromed lined. (EDIT: Incorrect, barrel is chrome lined)

Op rod guide loose.

Front sight canted a bit, loosened gas cylinder plug, adjusted sight, tightened back up.

Barrel appears to be indexed well. (For a Norinco.)

Receiver looks decent.

One of the mags works fine, the other is a major pain in the ass to remove.

So that's one for chrome lined, one for not, and no photos of either :)
Not sure how you would adjust the sight by loosening the gas cylinder plug, please explain.

No chance of sub 1 moa. That would be all shots touching more or less at 50.
